SBAR Nursing Example: Nurse-to-Physician Communication Report NCLEX
SBAR nursing example and explanation: Nurse-to-Physician communication for nursing students and nurses.
SBAR is a communication tool that allows nurses and other healthcare professionals to communicate clearly and efficiently. SBAR is an acronym that stands for Situation, Background, Assessment, and Recommendation.
SBAR can be used during nurse-to-nurse report handoffs, nurse-to-physician communication, as well as communication with other healthcare members (physical therapists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, etc.).
In this video, Nurse Sarah explains the fundamentals of SBAR, provides an example of nurse-to-physician communication, and more.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm so glad the videos are helping you 💜
you are my best friend now Sara, whenever I am lacking any skill, I come and watch your video. it's very helpful thank you.
This was very interesting to watch. To all the commenters, I vow that when I am a physician I won’t be rude when getting report (or at all for that matter).
Just got hired at a Medical Intensive Care unit! I've been watching your videos since nursing school. I owe you a lot, thank you so much! This SBAR video will help me have a more focused communication for the physician.

I love all her videos. I have learned a whole lot and is still learning. Very well done.
Mrs. Sarah , thank you so much for all the videos. You are the reason for completing my nursing program . I also want to thank your husband for the body part movement video! English is my second language. During exams and practice NCLEX questions I made mistakes related on pt positioning questions due to getting confused with the meaning of the words . What he did in that video was so helpful , a life saver for students like me .
Best description of SBAR I've ever seen or heard! THANK YOU!!
Serah My Exams Started on 5th July Wish me Luck...😊😊😊...Love From INDIA...🙏🙏🙏
Hi, Nurse Sarah... I am always amazed at how you present your videos. They are short but very informative! I was able to grasp a lot of concepts in Nursing with your vids and all these videos had helped me pass our local board exam. Thank you very much for everything.
I’m a baby nurse but still watching and helpful . Thank you
This was beautiful… this is the method my Supervisor requires us to utilize to do handover reports.

This is so great and really helps organize the conversation, however I'm afraid of Doctor's who are extremely short and rude. I've overheard some nurses getting yelled at for going through the SBAR !!! Like what?! I would like some advice on how to avoid those situations. thank you! love your videos.
Thanks Sarah this came at the right time for me.keep up the good work.
