This song led me to SB19, led me to be a fan. Always makes me tear up. Pablo won the composer of the year with this song.

This has become a staple of most of the graduation ceremonies here in the Philippines. Such a fitting tribute to our parents and the hardships they have to endure to ensure good education for their children.

Pablo made this when they were quarantined together due to Covid. He asked the boys what would they like to tell their families since they can't see them. Ken used to cry when singing his part as he misses his family so much. He grew up in church where his Grandfather was the pastor as his parents are working overseas. At the time, he only saw his parents twice, when he was 5 yrs old and 1st year college. Now, his parents are back for good as he can take care of them. Josh part was really poignant at he sang about Papa, when he grew up without knowing who his father is. There's just his mom and his older sister. Josh sang it with so much heart that you can't help being touched.

I believe Pablo envisioned MAPA to be accompanied by a choir and an orchestra...so this is how the five of them interpreted that vision - eargasmic, to say the least!!! This is why I love SB19's live performances - they are not just mimicking the recording of their music but they are actually giving the listener an experience!

The song is so beautiful even the story behind it. It must have been when they were doing roadshows and have been away for a while. They were doing their laundry when Pablo asked them what they would like to say to their parents. It has special meaning to each of them. Like Josh who sang the part about the father, when he has no recollection of his father and Ken at that time had only seen his parents a few times as they were working abroad. In one of their earlier 2-day concerts, the first day Ken was crying while singing his solo part towards the end of the song. On the 2nd day he knew part of that performance, the parents of the members would come out of the stage. In his mind, as usual, he had no parents around. But the boys surprised him and flew in his sister and uncle from their hometown. When his sister taps him he drops to the floor and starts bawling. That night he promised that by next year he could afford to bring his parents home and watch their concert. It did happen.

They just had their One Zone Half a Decade Celebration Fanmeet at Araneta and I was there! Once again, it was a sold out event. They had a 17-min nonstop performance and Araneta just erupted. For most part, there were games and interaction with the fans. Ken and Justin did a very good job as game masters. It was live streamed as well. Hope you can catch some great fan cams.
