I can't believe we didn't even connect the song at all to Manananggal, which is literally a creature we learned about on our second channel 😂 We were probably too busy looking at the pictures of the horrifying thing and our brain blocked out the name haha.. anyway, despite the hideousness of the monster, this song was great! Also it seems like some people are upset that we watched a random lyric video instead of listening to the song on Spotify. All we have to say to this is that we weren't reacting to the video we were reacting to the song, the video is just useful for visuals and being able to read the lyrics (even in Filipino). Some people might not know this, but even unofficial lyric videos will ultimately make money for SB19 through YT copryight claims, so don't worry too much about the 1 view we gave them. That's what I like the most about SB19. Their songs have meaningful lyrics.

Manananggal is a local mythical creature. The monster has wings and the upper body separates from the lower. The monster creeps up at night when you fall asleep. There's two symbolisms: One, SB19 soars high but they stay "grounded" and humble. Two, the lyrics in the end say "don't sleep on me" which both pertains to the monster preying on sleeping victims and also about people "sleeping" on SB19's talent.

For those who are not from the PH and are intrugued by the 'Manananggal' mentioned in the song 'Mana,' it is a Philippine mythical creature that has big bat-like wings and are able to separate their upper and lower torso. Now, how did Pablo use this as symbolism? Human during the day, the Manananggal turns into it's true self during late night--a flesh hunting monster with big wings and vampire-like teeth. As it transforms, the lower torso of the body is left on the ground while the upper is capable of flying everywhere and still goes back to it's human form by re-attaching both torsos. Kinda like how the saying "keep your feet on the ground" goes, SB19 keeps 'grounded' even though they are now able to 'fly' and have reached new heights in their career.No matter how high they fly, no matter how big their hunt for greatness is, their feet are still on the ground. They still return to it. They always go back to their humanness. Are SB19 monsters though? 😏 Monsters on the charts, perhaps? Now, you tell me. ☺️ #SB19
