As a former Hindu, he's just lucky it was Shiva that was lashing out and not the aforementioned Fly Girl, since *he* tends to favor instant disintegration as his attack of choice and *she* turns into Kali when sufficiently annoyed (and even /implying/ that she might not be faithful to get hubby is probably the best way to do that), and Kali tends to favor much more painful methods of obliteration.
