Say Goodbye to Wet Plastics: Best Dishwashers for Drying

🍽️ In this episode, Francesco and Dennis tackle a common conundrum: how to effectively dry plastics in the dishwasher. It's a topic that often leaves us feeling a bit emotional, but fear not, we've got answers!
🤓 Let's start with a quick quiz: Are you using the "Normal" wash cycle, keeping the dishwasher closed from start to finish, and using a rinse aid? If you answered yes, great job! These are crucial steps in ensuring your dishes dry properly.
💡 But here's the science behind it: Modern dishwashers are designed to be energy-efficient and eco-friendly, using less water and energy. The "Normal" cycle may take about two hours to complete, and keeping the door closed throughout is vital, as constantly opening it releases hot air and energy required for drying.
🧽 Rinse aid is your secret weapon. It helps water sheet off your plastic items, aiding the drying process. If you've run out, consider dishwasher detergents that incorporate rinse aid.
🍽️ So, while plastics can be challenging to dry in any dishwasher due to their energy-efficient designs, following these tips and choosing the right cycle can greatly improve your results. And remember, be patient and let the dishwasher do its job!

I use all Cascade products, including power dry rinse aid. I use the smart wash on my Kenmore by Bosch all the time.

I've almost always run the dishwasher overnight while everyone's asleep. I don't understand why anyone would check sooner than 2 or 3 hrs after starting the machine.

Seems like it's an old habit. That's the common timeframe on machines now for sure.

Soooo, the element gets the water hot, but we can't use it for drying the dishes. Ridiculous. I remodeled my kitchen and would like to new matching appliances but the reviews for dishwashers and refrigerators are terrible. The Bosch is probably a great unit, but $1700 bucks for a dishwasher? Nope. I will keep my 18 year old Kenmore with it's 4,000 degree drying element until it dies, hahaha! Yes, my plastics come out dry.
