Rapid magazine publisher Scott MacGregor sits down with Zac Kauffman to find out what is new from Sawyer in the world of whitewater blades. Kauffman shows off the Sawyer V-Lam, it's the lightest blade that Sawyer has ever made-it's also super tough and beautiful to look at. The V-Lam blade is a laminated western red cedar blade. Several layers of fiberglass are added on top of this lightweight wood. Kauffman explains the process further in this video from the showroom floor of Outdoor Retailer 2015.
