That first log would’ve been great for timber framing, boxing the heart for a 8x8 post. Loved the clear in it, hope they don’t get used for horse boards.

The first log was as fine a piece one could hope for. Literally no waste and uniform top grade through and through. For forty years our custom cabinet shop used mostly Wisconsin red oak and were never disappointed in the quality of the lumber.

There is a snow storm on the way to Wisconsin. I always enjoy watching you guys work. I do not have any trees to harvest but I still wish I had my own sawmill. There is something about seeing the grain for the first time. Sometimes you get nice clear grain boards and other times you get splits, rot and knots. Momma said you never know what is inside. I hope that all is well with your and your family. Stay safe.

Hi Mark and crew! One thing I always wondered after watching many of your videos. When the logs roll off the deck and onto the carriage, it makes that “boom”, but is the carriage and knees built to handle that repeated impact and does it throw off the accuracy of that yellow dial/scale?

Mark, another great video; I enjoy watching you saw these logs. BUT, there is one thing I am seeing that really rankles the hackles of this ol' Native Texan. PLEASE rehang the Texas flag ..... the white stripe is the top and the top hangs to the right, as you ONCE had it hung (e.g., Episode 340). Thanks in advance. 👍👌👍

@@markgalicic7788 Mark, I stand corrected. According to the official State of Texas web page for how to display the Texas flag as you do, the white DOES hang to the left and NOT as I thought it should be.
