Counterpoint: I was forced into manual stoop labor farming with negative cash flows every year by a parent. They couldn’t afford to put brakes on the tractors. Almost cost me my life over and over. At 5. No, farming is not the best life. I wish I was never been born to a farmer. Farmers want only helpmeets from my experience.

"Show me a hero and I'll write you a tradgedy." Both sides of my family lost dairy farms that had been in the family since 1910 and 1923. I worked 4 summers on a truck farm before I joined the Marines and to this day I can't drive by a farm stand without stopping and buying at least one thing.

The evils of the world are destroying what is good. The dark times your family has been through are not in vain. You have been able to help so many because of the journey you have experienced. God’s glory always shines through. If you hadn’t been through and done what you have so many more would be on the same journey. This not only hurts the family but the community they live in. I have come from generations of farmers and they too lost it all. Nothing left for the generations now. I have farming in my blood. I am drawn to growing and caring for things. It is my passion. Starting this journey during the hardest time in history only motivates me more. I know this is what we have to do for ourselves, our families and our communities. God bless your family and know nothing you have been through was in vain, bit for The Father’s glory. Thank you for speaking the truth.

This guy says many times that 'nobody is talking about this solution to this problem', but yet the solution is never talked about in this video. Why? Because the son of a farmer turned banker saw a way to make even more money off this problem by selling a "solution" to very farmers he's trying to help. If he really wanted to help people, he would make a "documentary" that showed people this solution. It's people like this that are the problem, not the solution. "This isn't a joke, this is people's lives. This is decades of hard work out here. This is generations of families that won't get to take over the family farm operation. They won't get to experience this lifestyle" That line hit my midwestern farm roots HARD. My granddad was the last one in my family to farm. But the love for the agricultural lifestyle jumped a generation because I have the strongest desire to be out in the field like my grandad and his dad were. Hopefully sooner than later I'll save up enough to start my own farm, on a smaller scale.

It should be pointed out that one way or another, since this film was made, farmers and ranchers had the best 3 years they’ve had out of the past 50 years. The improvements in farming techniques are steadily being more adopted, and their is a real nice, yet small level of getting out of the commodities system with a specialty crop. One sold directly to an end user, or through a broker like myself who keeps a very small basis, and handling fee. So many end users are looking for a value added label. All natural, non gmo, no glyphosate etc… it’s small, but it’s real, and it’s growing.

i went thru severe depression in 2018. high debt then a state dairy inspector caused injury to me. i sent my bills to the state twice denied both times. SO i went to local law and health department and NOTHING from them so i called many senators the usda the datcp , farm first, wmmb and farm bureau and once i mentioned a state employee NO one would help or talk to me. the ONLY time some one offered help was when some one called and said i was suicidal THEN a cop was here in less than 20 minutes. the cops would NOT talk to me over my accident BUT i couldnt go ANY wheres till i talked to a shrink for 15 minutes THEN the cop and shrink pretty much blamed me on the words i used telling the state to piss off!!! they turned it around it was MY fault!!! NO one in wisconsin cares about farmers the MOST essential business out there NO government cares about us NO one unless they think im suicidal THEN your here in 15 minutes. wish i could post a picture here of my injury!! farmers are the MOST essential business out there but we sure are treated like CRAP!!!!

I am so very sorry you have been through all of this. The world is turning evil. We as a group need to turn away from the evils and take a narrow path. Lies are everywhere and being upset or discouraged now is wrong. It is not wrong but the way to let out stress and debrief yourself. Holding it all in will only create a black hole that destroys you. I, myself, do not have enough land to do everything but we can all work together and go back to what is good. I drive to my local farmer for what I need and cannot do myself. I refuse to support big business and choose to go local. There has to be a way to get around what has always been the status quo. May God bless you!

This saddens me to the bone. My friend Stephanie Nash gave up singing to move here to Tennessee to help put on the family dairy farm. I have taken up the fight with her as a friend. She has a TicTok in which she post many things about the Dairy Business and what the Federal Government is doing to kill it. I was raised on a small farm but after Vietnam I went to work as a Operations Manager for a larger trucking firm. After retiring, I came back-bought the family farm and starting fighting along with the others. I have subscribed and follow on here to add my comments. Our government can afford to pay Illegals to come here but they can't help the farmers to live. That is pure Bull.

There haven't been many documentaries to leave me speechless or emotional. "Saving The American Farmer" now joins that list, along with "Forever Majestic" I'm in school for Agricultural Sciences, and am searching for what I want to do with my degree. And following my past of helping others, that may be what I do. Farmers need the world's help. But we're too busy worrying about what the president is doing. We don't see that the sanctions against Russia have prevented North America from getting any nitrogen or products from anhydrous ammonia. We rely on Russia for that. People don't see that farmers are the leading group of people committing suicide. People don't see that inflation being over 16% higher than previous years affects the farmer more than the average person. They don't see if the government shuts down, farmers could lose so much money because the ARC/PLC program is government controlled. They don't see that interest rates for equipment and products needed for farming have skyrocketed over 146% in the last five years. I don't know what the future holds for any of us, including myself. But, I can hope it only gets better and that I can be there to help.

I put in at least a 12 hour day every day and drink myself to sleep. The feeling of sitting in my recliner of an evening and melting away all my stress and anxiety is what gets me out of bed in the morning and I know that can’t be healthy. I can’t enjoy anything anymore I’m more concerned about keeping landlords happy than keeping my wife happy... I related to everything in this video but am confused about what exactly you’re offering

That young man is so right. We don't have any groups like yours in Australia it is still very much each for himself because the Australian Farmer I so independent and not able to ask for and seek help. The current business model for farmers is not suitable for. Farmers because of the fact the are at the bottom of the chain . The are price takers not price setters. I n Australia we have the vageries of poor prices, high input costs prolonged droughts and for many years very high interest rates, pests , disease ,storms and so on many don't fall inside the lines that can get the government help so have to to make it on their own. I think the only way is to have their own credit bank they own and control. Farming is more than a business.

The same thing is happening in Australia and has been since the late 1980's. It seems like every ten or fifteen years a farmer needs to at least be able to add another thousand or so acres to what they already farm because of costs and seasons and so forth what a farmer reviews is not nearly as much as they should be getting. In many cases the net profit is in the negative range and if things are really good a farmer might receive 1- 5 % on their investment a just return would be at least ten to fifteen percent. It is not just happening. Everything upline of the farmer is ripping it from them.

Biden is very lucky to receive o much support from the American farmers. He would've never made it to office without them.

How anyone cannot see the hurt and pain in this video is beyond me. You do not have empathy or a heart if it does not touch you. Ye have not eyes to see not ears to hear. Creating strife is an abomination and marks you.

And stay away from giant machines with huge loans, government subsidies, buy-outs, pesticides, GMO and Bill Gates. Rotate crops with animals. Don't do monoculture such as just dairy and sell directly to the consumer. They will pay for local and organic.
