Robbie! I put down the phone for a moment and turned around while listening to this and a hummingbird was out my window at the flowers of a yucca plant. I couldn’t believe it! You’re bringing the hummingbirds! 😄
I've watched a TON, I mean TONS, of gardening videos, and this is the first video I've seen to share this knowledge. Thank you so much! Well done. Subbed!

Oh man oh man. I have ziplock bags of seeds that probably not going to grow. I eat green peppers like crazy. Now I know.... thank you.
Another brilliant idea from the delighful Robbie I have been streaming you up satairs anddecided for this, I had to leave comment! "Blessings of Bounty and May Your Gardens and your Life always Bring You Joy,Inspiration and Abundance!" - Hope & Mark!
This is super interesting! Plants amaze me with how resilient they are.
Poppycock. I grow peppers from green peppers all the time.
Will try it. Never heard this before. Thanks

Wonderful tip ! Thanks.
Mind blown 🤯 thank you so much for this VALUABLE information!!!
You are a Marvel Lady. I tried to dry & plant Green pepper seeds and only some grew. Now I know the how because of your tuition. And I subscribe to your channel because you know what you are doing & telling people. I can never thank you enough for your education.

Thank you so much Robbie. I had no idea. You are amazing. :)
One tip, put all your fresh-gathered seeds and place in a cup of water. Slowly pour out all floating seeds. The seeds that sunk to the bottom should be good for planting. I didn't know that the peppers will continue ripening after cutting,Thank you.

This isnt really true. Kust do a Peroxide soak and all the seeds should be okay
What a clever shortcut. Thanks for sharing.
Love your tips ❤
Brillent... so glad I found your website!
Thank you for this tip!!!
Thank you miss ma'am💕 I appreciate your wisdom
Very interesting concept. We’ve had one of the worst summers here in NZ, so apart from my last year’s habanero bush producing 100s of red peppers, my capsicums are huge but still very green. So, I’ll try out this method.
Great tip, thank you!
Thanks for sharing this little trick.
great info..blessings
Great tip, Robbie thank you. 🕵👌 🙂👵.
You are the best. So grateful for u.
Thanks for the tip . I wondered what was up with the bell pepper seeds. We love all shades of bell peppers. Now I can save the seeds the right way . I see a little Yorkie , maybe she is looking for her broccoli ? I just love watching her get happy when you give her a piece.
Thank you Robbie! I will try it!🙂

Great tips friend! Nice and simple 😊
I grow tobasco peppers every year in a big storage tub. At the end of the year here in texas around October. I'll start to harvest an out of the yelled, ill take a handful an spread the seeds about an inch under the dirt, the last few years I've had great success doing it like that
Thanks ☺️
I've grown 100s of peppers from green bell pepper seeds the seeds have like a 90% success rate. In Chicago if that makes a difference.

Could be the type of pepper you were growing from, some will grow and some will not have mature seeds until the pepper is ripe, interesting

I’ll try this with peppers from my garden. Thanks for sharing! I’ve tried growing from store bought peppers and had luck only if the pepper was grown in the USA any produce imported from outside the US the seeds won’t be viable. A lot of peppers come from Mexico out of season.
this was nice wish I saw this much sooner--- been saving seeds since december 2020... but I dunno... if I should try now unless i see seeds are redish or still to a cap U were wonderful LOL

I’m so glad I seen this video Robbie. I will take your advice about getting seeds from a bell pepper. What you do makes sense. You’re soo smart!! I will let you know if I can do the same thing. Later 6:00
Thanks. This is the way too save pepper seeds.
May I be impertinent and say how lovely you look today? Not that you don't usually look lovely, but the pink Chanelesque top and earrings, well I know, I'll shut up now. Can't wait to see your newest garden! 😄👍❤
Thank you for this video! Will you please show how to get seeds from other vegetables?

you could try to put the stem in water, to try to feed the seeds a bit longer. you can also pick a couple of the peppers and let them sit on the counter and ripen. also try to put their stems in water.
Augh....that's what i was doing wrong...have A Beautiful & Safe 4th Weekend!!
Funny, I just found a little, dried up cap of green pepper with the seeds still on and tucked it in a pot with a pepper that is already producing. In fact, that pepper came from that pot. The cap had not turned red, and almost none of my bell peppers ever turn red. But, if even one seed sprouts and grows, it will be a good thing.
This is a fantastic video. So helpful. So glad I found this channel. New subscriber here. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
yes they will...I've had the best peppers ever....yummmm
How long do the seeds need to "rest" before you plant them ?

Thank you so much. I needed this. I LOVE the sweet mini peppers but cannot find seeds at nurseries. Thus I saved them like you demonstrated. Problem was, those seeds grew into beautiful large bell peppers. Do you have suggestions how to grow those mini peppers?

Wow! What a great tip! Would they ripen better or more quickly if you left them next to ripening bananas? What if you don’t quite get enough flesh with it, would it still be worth trying?
I ate a green bell pepper and for fun took the whole pepper and planted it in a large pot on my deck. I now have around 23 plants ! I have had them indoors under a grow light for the cold season. They are still growing strong. Were my seeds immature, it was a green bell pepper like yours, or was I lucky?
@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy

Some of those were ripe 😊
Would it be better if you waited until the green bell peppers turn a little red..I have one that is turning red and it was the first to appear so the others are probably not far behind. When it turns red does that mean the seeds will be ok to plant even without cutting the top off like you did here?
Thanks for the tip old lady
Thanks for the tip! Have a wonderful 4th!! Are you sure you weren’t on tv?
Apparently birds eat the fruit and poop out the seeds sand they grow. So soaking the seeds in cold black tea apparently works too.
I been trying to grow bell peppers from store seeds but they don't grow. So im trying this tip from a store one today. Fingers crossed.

The peppers you may be trying to grow from may not have “ripe” mature seeds

Instead of trying all this just buy a red bell pepper. Easier and faster. Red bell peppers are actually ripe green bell peppers.
Great info 👍👍👍 thank you! is it still ok to plant pepper from seeds?

Sure best pepper I ever had was from the compost pile😊 mind you, only one came up strong and there were all the seeds from a red bell pepper.
My question has been answered thank you 🥰 I was wondering why I couldn't grow the bell peppers because they were green 💚
Hi Robbie, I'm a newbie to gardening so excuse me for this question. Can I plant the whole cap with seeds in a pot?
@sometimessnarky1642
Жыл бұрын
Probably not a good idea. You'll potentially get twenty seedlings in that pot which you will then have to separate and replant or just snip off and kill. Once dried remove the seeds and plant 2-3 in a pot. Then thin the weak ones.
Hello, you briefly mentioned saving the seeds. May I ask your seed saving method?
I saw a video from a gardener in Eastern Europe who advises that the pepper seed should have the little nub at its edge carefully snipped off, which will allow the root to poke out more easily and not have to waste energy trying to force its way. Any thoughts?

Never heard of this at all, and I grow tons of pepper seeds, I can’t stop them from germinating, it sounds like a click bate video

I have since learned that most peppers start out green and turn red, orange or yellow when they ripen. Seeds taken from immature fruit will never sprout as they are premature and not sufficiently developed to sprout. To accelerate ripening, the gardener I watched CAREFULLY sliced through the flesh near the stem, leaving a bit of the flesh on, to remove the end of the pepper WITH seeds attached. Put the severed stem (seeds and all) in small dish, put it on a window sill and wait until the pepper has turned color to red or yellow or whatever color they reach when ripe. This will take a week to 10 days, shorter if it gets lots of sun. Then collect and plant the seeds.

@@jackmacswan7183 I do it as I did here in this video, leave the seeds attached to the Mother center part of the pepper, and all the seeds continue to mature
Awesome! How about the yellow, red and yellow peppers? Do you think most of the peppers are hybrids in the store?
@ArnabDutta-mz4ui

Those are ripe. Just dry the seeds and wrap in moist towel to germinate.
when i cut open my orange pepper three little peppers where growing inside...how do i take care of them to make them grow bigger? do i stick them in the dirt? wrap it in a damp paper towel?
@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy

Really not much you can do with the ones inside 😊
Hi robbie quick question would this work with like jalapeños and other types of pepper🌶
What about the mini red yellow and orange peppers can I harvest them seeds and plant them
Watched a video where the whole cap was planted in soil and the plants started to grow , we never seen the end result after the sprouting

Do you have other videos how to save seeds from okra, zucchini, squash, tomatoes etc etc
Does this work for all peppers like jalapeño, habanero, Serrano and puéblanos? I mostly want those hotter varieties.
@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy
3 ай бұрын
I would say yes, it should work for all peppers picked under ripe
😎
Is this concept the sMe with serano peppers?
Its also a common mistake when people buy jalapenos in store. Most of them are sold green and i always thought they were green til i was told they actually go red when mature lol. Bet others have tried to do the same thing and had same problem. fwiw
If you left the middle stem with seeds but cut the surrounding flesh,will this process still work?
Mam i have red habanero,i picked the greens the other day,how many days it will be ripe?
So, how do I know which seeds are good?
How long can I save them before planting and how do I save them?
@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy
5 ай бұрын
You can save them for many months, even up to a year just save them when they’re dry either in an envelope or just put them in a cup
Please help me understand how everything works I know Okra grows easily when Planted in(from the Seed) the Ground without pretty much Maturing
How to store them ? 🙏
Will this work yellow and red peppers too.
@ArnabDutta-mz4ui
10 ай бұрын
Yellow and red peppers are essentially ripe green peppers. For yellow and red peppers, you can just save the seeds or even just dry them for a week and wrap it in a moist paper towel and they'll germinate in 4-5 days. You don't need to do the dry cap part for yellow/red peppers are they're already ripe. The best method to grow green peppers is actually buy red peppers from the store, use it in salad or noodles, dry out the seeds on a tissue and then proceed to germination. I've had more than 90% success rate with store bought peppers this way and probably peppers have one of the highest germination rates among store bought items.
Wow. Ok so I've been doing it all wrong, lol. Thanks for the heads up.
if i plant a seed from a green bell pepper will it turn red???
Isn't a red or yellow pepper a green pepper that has been allowed to mature to that point?
Did this by accident 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks Robbie. Great information. Now I know why my seeds did not germinate. Great video as always.
There GMO also.
