Got the polo GTI with manual transmission and turn it into a polo gti clubsport ;D look at the channel: " Cedric ahrens". there you can see my polo on the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

I prefer 5 doors... the DSG is a non starter (not that we even get a Polo option in the US! :( ), so Golf it is... Good to see a new video. Cheers! Edit: we have a tuned MK6 TDI... it was a blast, but never got the suspension, etc... it deserved. Dieselgate got it first.

Polo GTI with DSG, pure White, black Windows and 18 inch Wheels and Launch Control is my Car. And he is faster than the 7.5 GTI with 245PS in launch Start😌😎🥳🔥🔥

@@notmenotme614 with 1 years no claims a 2010 GTI is looking at around £1000 - £1300, hopefully in a year or two when I've got enough to buy one the insurance will be a bit cheaper.

Drove both cars, the golf is more refined, a little faster too. Taking nothing away from the Polo, its really good for the price and the GTI plus turns heads for a little hot hatch.

There's a great deal currently on the Polo GTI so I thought what the heck it'll be my last petrol hurray. A really good honest review. If it was me? I think I'd have slipped into default Golf is better/on message but you didn't. Thanks for this

Just a stage one engine and tcu tune and a good set of tyres and will be on level if not faster

I bought the 2020 polo gti 13 Months ago. And yes this car is strong and fun to drive. The Golf is of course bigger and more respectful on the road but it's fun when you get underestimated by others when you are driving the Polo and make them regret trying to bully you🤣

I had a 19 plate polo gti+ and loved it but in dec I swapped it for a golf gti performance , As good as the polo is I’m so glad I got the golf. I’m also glad I bought the 7.5 and not a golf 8.

Spend a few grand on the polo and you will make it way better than the golf tbh

I have the Polo GTIplus, have driven both and the Golf is better but then it should be as it’s 50% more expensive. The Polo is more of a point and squirt machine. Anyhow I love mine. Also like the size on small narrow roads. Will be going stage 1 soon, could do with a mechanical diff tho although I’m being picky.

I have a Polo GTI+ we well and I picked it up just before the prices of cars went mad and it’s a lot of car for the price, especially nowadays and I love it too bits! Would love to get some bits on it and go stage 1 but that’s as far as I would go

I pulled the trigger on a 2018 identical to the blue one after watching this vid. Now 6 weeks into ownership, it's a sick car.

Digital display for the polo, but not the LED (front) lights.. In my opinion, makes all the difference. Should be standard for the GTI.

Excellent comparison, thanks. The Polo GTi+ looks like fantastic value next to the Golf GTi. One suggestion for future videos: could you mute the background music when you are talking, please? It was hard to hear what you were saying at times.

niceeee. I had a used 2016 1.2 TSI polo for about 2 months which VW changed for a brand new Polo Beats because they didn't know how to fix simple problems and their service was terrible. Anyway i aboslutely love the beats polo and it's noticably bigger than my old one. Only thing is it's a 1.0 TSI so i can feel it doesn't pick up as well. Defo gonna upgrade to a polo GTI in 3 years!!

Is that a standard exhaust of the Golf? As mine is almost silent and I’d never describe it as sounding good.

Which year is the polo GTI? Is this the 2020 or 2021 version? Most of the ones Ive seen have a digital speedometer so seeing this with the traditional manual speedo is a pleasant surprise. I want one!

It’s a 2020. Entry model GTI. The GTI plus comes with the digital speedometer.

I prefer my 2012 polo GTI with turbo and super charge 🤷🏿‍♂️ it’s vintage polo and sure will one day be collectables

@Knox Road not all of the 6r polo has issues if you look after well and do the necessary service and don’t drive like a maniac or misuse it then you shouldn’t have the same problem as others say every car has problems if you trash it

Choccy engine paired with a choccy DSG box. I’ll pass on it being vintage

I own a golf Sv diesel and have driven a new 1 litre polo. Apart from both being slow both are brilliant cars

Lol. I agree, i owned a mark 5 golf and it was slow but very good in other ways

I drived both, and I chosed to invest 20k in golf GTE with 20 plate. I want sensation, I press button and that's it, not as GTI, but very close, and I forgot when I put petrol in the car, i think in january and I am not joking at all, driving it every day for daily living [gym, work, shopping]. GTE is the best performance car what they made

I've got the Polo GTI+. The 18s make the ride a little firm. Never tested a model on 17s

I've a 2019 Polo GTI+ Had it from new, didn't bother with the 18inch wheels, stuck with the standard 17inch and got the sunroof instead. It rides real comfy in standard mode though crashes over potholes. Incidentally mine pops on the over run in sport mode, I suppose I can hear it with the sunroof open.

Polo GTI+ is awesome, Golf old hat. It's a small car that feels like bigger car.

we have a mk7 GTI and a new polo GTI .. Depends on the buyer profile .tbh the polo is great though fun though whereas the golf is very more clinical

I drive a polo gti and i have beaten many golf gti because my polo is lighter in weight, ok they have more bhp but the weight makes the difference!!

GTI+ doesn’t come with 18’s, on both trim levels the 18’s are optional extra✌🏽 + also gets the adaptive cruise control which I don’t think I could live without now! Also Brushed metal? Its shite matte plastic that does my nut in 😂

Where abouts are these roads?...it looks like somewhere near North Yorkshire dales?...... I'm from Leeds so have all this near enough on my door step!......

The polo is too jittery and cramped inside for me, but it is fun to drive around town. But the golf is definitely the pic for me

had the polo gti+ for 4 years... Loved it - but had to go back #companycar

Reason that golf sounds a lot better is cause it’s pre opf. I’ve got a GTI+ Polo and it sounds awful standard. I had to change a few things on mine to make it sound good

How many miles have you done and what have you done to the exhaust? Mine doesn’t sound too bad at 9k miles but could sound better

I have got a gti+ in reef blue it’s just done over 5k miles and has a milltek non res cat back fitted to it. And the only difference I can hear is on cold start (opf model). My dad has a golf r mk7 2014 with a cobra res delete and it’s made a huge difference, you get a proper bang on upshifts.

Shame the music is louder than you

polo is way better for the money

Would have the Polo, the Golf looks too boring because it's so common, and the interior is more dated
