Save Your Back! Ergonomic Earth Anchor Puller for Canine Trapping
Спорт
A local fox/coyote trapper came up with this earth anchor puller design. At $65, I think it will pay huge dividends by allowing me to re-use stakes and avoid back surgery!

As Coyote Wacker says - a High Lift jack is a wonderful tool for pulling stubborn rebar stakes too. I made a simple chain loop to put around the stake and the horn on the jack.

good idea!
I make my earth anchors cut 3" black pipe weld a nut on top. My puller is 1 bar 52" long with a grab hook and a angle on the bottom works good.
A Nice Puller for sure …But To be honest I bought myself a Tractor jack ,if It don’t pull out the cable or chain it just breaks it … Also I Quit using Cable ,Because like you it’s nothin but rocks here ,,, More Than once I went to set the cable ,an it came up cut ,,,Goodluck Out There ! Be safe & Smart …
Great video! Thanks for sharing. Although I like your tool better, all I use is my ice chisel and I secure a piece of airplane cable cable I use to anchor my RAM and on the end I use a quick link which hooks to the end of my Iowa earth anchors. My chisel is heavy so leverage is good. Cheers!
Nice puller. Thanks for sharing
That puller is a good design redirecting the leverage for ergonomically protecting your back muscles and spine. Try using 1/8” cable and cable thimbles with the #3 chain to build a very durable stake. The thimbles are reusable when rebuilding stakes. On my land trapline I frequently use an 18 volt 1/2” cordless drill. A 1.5” auger can be used to open alongside the chain / cable stake. Now the best tips to save wear and tear on wrists and shoulders when driving stakes. When the ground is not frozen, before driving the bullet or a rebar stake, drill a pilot hole with a ship auger bit. When the ground is frozen, use the hammer drill setting with a long masonry bit to drill holes for rebar stakes. Rebar stakes can be broken loose by twisting with Vice grip pliers and then removed with your new stake puller.

great ideas, thanks for sharing! I use a hammer drill and masonry bit to get a hole started to pound those super stakes into rocky ground. There are many places here you couldn't get a stake in the ground without it.
Looks like a good puller I plan on using a dirt hole auger in a drill to pull up my stakes this season.
I would suggest that the claw on the tool is meant for pulling rebar stakes, but could well be for digging? Nice puller but a bit weighty much like the 1/2 moon style I have.

Yeah, the guy who makes them designed the claw for digging, but it could certainly be used to start rebar stakes out of the ground. Maybe a hook or 'V' could be added to pull rebar.

@@trappingtoday Nice! Where did you get it? I need one!
Drill works with auger I wouldn’t want to carry that around
Why don't you guy just go get a post puller. Only 30 dollars and will pull way easier than that stupid thing. Just take post attachment off and put a peace of chain on. Have something that will do more than one job
