SAVE MONEY - EASY FIX to clean RV Grey Water Sensors

#traveltrailer #campers #rvlife
Our travel trailer’s grey water tank sensors gave us a little bit of a hard time, as they kept showing up as half full after emptying the tanks. Here is a little trick, very inexpensive, to clean those tricky grey water tank sensors. I will walk you through the workings of cleaning them up. I hope it helps you as much as it helped us!
I am sure that every person that owns an RV knows the importance of maintaining the RV’s wastewater tanks as clean and neat as possible. Ignoring any kind of wastewater tanks problems is simply not an alternative. To begin with, an improper use or cleaning routine of these tanks can lead to a presence of a very bad odor inside and outside of the RV and also a build up of solid waste which may even cause the entire system to fail. Plus, wastewater tank repair is very expensive and hard to get. So after knowing all of this, and understanding that it takes a little bit of more effort to maintain these tanks clean, I discovered a super easy way, and by the way super inexpensive, to clean and maintain my rv’s wastewater tanks super clean at all times.
First: whenever you are camping, whether connected to a sewer or not, always leave the drain valves closed. Open them to drain the water only when the tank is full. When the tank is full, the liquid/water in itself will serve as a flushing mechanism to get rid of all the solid waste that if left inside will collect in the tanks and eventually create a serious problem.
Second: Always use a water filter. This will prevent sediment from accumulating in your tanks also resulting in low water pressure over time.
Third: Follow the vinegar and Dawn method I describe in this video and try to make your travels with at least partially filled tanks so that the water promotes cleaning by agitating the water with the movements of the RV.

We hadn’t heard of this method before. We’ve done dishwasher detergent with hot water and left it in the tank for a drive, then dump it when we arrive. Works really well too. -Chris & Suzannah

Hey rodysk8 thanks for watching! Try vinegar and dish soap and water. Also, you can put a 12oz bottle of Clorox. Leave it for 24hrs (no more than that). Try to remove any food or any oil with paper towel before you use the sink. That works for me! 🤙🏼🛹
