I want to thank you so much for this video on how to remove all that plumbing to get that plastic slug out of your tank. Your instructions …..that I followed …..helped me solve the same grey tank issue….. thank you than you… I was so worried about the connections where the plumber’s putty was but your video gave me the courage to do it. And now my problem is solved!!!

Thank you, brother. Bought a used Tiffin, and only got a dribble from my (half full) gray tank. Ten seconds with a coat hanger started a flood, and now I need a shower, but I am happy to have fixed it so quickly for free. The 1.5 inch stuff is glued to the tank, so I can't see if there's a disk of tank material in there. A lot of organic crud came out, so we'll fill the tank halfway, do some motocross, then dump 2 or 3 times and hope that's the fix. If not, I know my options due to your video. Thanx again!!

Thank you sir for this video! My husband and I live in our 2020 forest river full time and just this week water from the grey tank stop coming out completely. We tried all the hacks..the drain snake, vinager and baking soda. However, after all that we followed your example and the exact same thing came out! Thank you again we can now shower again!

Thank you so much!!! I have a grey wolf 2021. My gray tank started draining slowly after my 5th trip. After just winterizing my camper I took your advice and took my pipe off. Sure enough I pulled 2 slugs out. So thank you so much this video helped so much.

I have a 2014 Sunseeker motor home manufactured by Forest River and have had the same problem almost as long as I have owned it. Of course the problem didn’t start happening until it was out of warranty. I always have suspected that’s the problem as sometimes it drains fine and other times hardly at all. I did start to take it apart, but wasn’t sure about the connection at the tank, so I stopped. After, seeing your video I may give it another try. Thanks for sharing your experience.

glad I could help you. I'm sure you will do just fine getting it back together. I did find plumbers putty that would work on plastics. your local dealer should be able to help with plumbers putty.

I wouldn't be afraid to add a little heat. I would use a heat gun and not any kind of open flame. I would make sure it is plumbers putty and not glued. I didn't need any heat to get mine out however mine wasn't cracked. good luck hope you get it fixed.

Thanks for video. My reducer that is puttied to the tank is cracked. I was wondering if it was removable. Sure isn't going to be easy in the confined space of my motorhome. You mentioned heat, I was wondering about hitting it a bit with a heat gun, but like you said definitely don't want to damage the tank.

I Didn't mention in the video that I used Hercules Brand plumbers putty. I'm sure that if you checked with your local RV dealer they would carry some plumbers putty that would work also. I believe you will be able to do this just fine. Thank You for the feed back.

Thank you for this great video. I have been frustrated with the same issue but nite I feel confident I might be able to fix it. Did you put plumber’s putty back on when you out it back together?

Yes. I was able to find the Hercules brand at a local plumber's shop. The oaty brand says not to use it on pvc or pcv plastics.

Excellent walk thru Charlie on a very common problem. What is the name of the correct putty for this type of ABS fitting? I had this on about a 2005 Sunnybrook and now again on my 2015 Open Range Roamer. The guys at the plants are just sloppy and the manufactures do not care the issues caused by what should be a very simple quality control item. For those who have this issue, but have not had time to make this repair, a simple snake up the drain while someone else holds the drain hose ready to connect it up the second you knock the blank out of they way, can help you get by. Not as messy as it sounds as long as it is on a gray tank. Black...well that is a story for another time.

Hercules brand is the one that I used. I purchased it from a local plumbing supply house. I looked it is available for purchase online. you may be able to get something that will work from your local RV dealer as well. thank you for the feed back.

Hey brother - previous owner of our 2013 heartland used to be a full timer aswell and used to leave blank tank closed and Grey tank open. I think it’s just got so much slime that the reducer is just absolutely clogged. I’ve put 150 psi of water pressure to it and can’t get it out lol. Wonder if this is it

I had someone on here tell me they had someone help them, they ran a plumbing snake up through the valve and pushed the slugs out of the way and the other person hurried up and put the sewer hose on. I think it's possible but I have never done that. Hope you get it resolved.
