Intalling a garage door was a daunting task but turned out to be surprisingly simple once I understood the mechanics. I have been building this garage shop space from the ground up and had never done a garage door. Building this space ground up left me with the biggest question that I didn't address in the video but what the opening needed to be? Answer: the doors are the size you order them so the framing needed to be smaller than the door where a man door, the frame opening is larger.
The included instructions were at times difficult to understand because they were generic for multiple door sizes and were not specific to my 9 foot width by 8 foot height.
The purpose of this video is to help you feel comfortable in doing this install yourself but by no means is it the way a garage door has to be installed. I had unique obstacles in my install that I haven't seen in others and hopefully you can learn from my failures or experiences.
This is my first video where I attempted to use my voice in it which is a milestone for me. Some may empathize with me on this but it is a difficult thing for me once the record button is pushed.
