Hello Dave, I like the video, but for me 1 question remains: can i get my own tabs at the start of the ribbon?

Hi George, using this method the custom tabs will always go to the end of the default tabs. If you want to move yours to the beginning, or remove some of the default tabs you do not use, then after you customize the ribbon layout take the complete XML and use it in a Firm folder. This replaces the entire ribbon rather than just adding tabs. teklastructures.support.tekla.com/2017/en/adm_additional_ribbon_customization

Hi Dave, I created a custom ribbon using 2017i and it is not working on 2019i. I check what's the problem and found out that it will only work if I use the word LOCAL instead of GLOBAL, here's the sample text that I copy from my .XML file. Command="Macro.CatalogMacroModelingItem?Drawing IFF?LOCAL" Text="Drawing IFF" Icon="G:\Shared drives\005 SSDI Learning etc\Member Coloring Macro\IFF.bmp" ShowText="true" ShowIcon="true" />

Does it work in TS2017? and what about \AppData\Local\Trimble\TeklaStructures\2017\UI\Commands\UserDefined.xml how make it common with firm folder?

Yes, this feature was released with v2017. You can find the answer to that and also your custom commands on the Tekla User Assistance - teklastructures.support.tekla.com/2017/en/adm_additional_ribbon_customization

All works. for User-Defined commands path: ...\firmfolder\Commands\UserDefined.xml

Hi Dave, I recorded a macro and set it as a ribbon, now I'm sharing the ribbon to my colleagues, they can see the ribbon but it is not working, I also try to copy the macro file to the firm folder and add the path to the macro directory at user.ini but it also did not work. My initial solution was to send them the macro file (.cs) and tell them to place it on their macro folder, it works that way but I believe there's a better solution. Hope you can help me with this one. Thanks a lot.

Unfortunately macro location is pretty limited, but as I recall mainly it is because of Windows security issues - you are essentially running a small unregistered program, so in order to enable it you have to disable some of the security in place, which would also open your computers up to viruses. For this reason I would not recommend putting them in a Firm folder.

Correct, it was only introduced with Tekla Structures v2017. teklastructures.support.tekla.com/2017/en/adm_additional_ribbon_customization
