Judges in Savannah Kupets meet issued surprise major deductions…cited due to one too many high skill level acro tumbling passes.
My daughter’s coaches contested it…
4 USAG meets this season before now (OZONE in Knoxville, Atlanta Centennial, Greensboro Invitational, Excalibur in VA Beach) and NO judge has ever given a deduction for this before. A trained judge viewed her routine at practice before the season began, and okayed the skills.
This routine scored first place at another meet this season, and has scored in the 9’s at every other meet. Today it placed last with a start score of 8.7 and end score of 8.0.
This WAS my daughter’s best floor performance all season, but scoring does not reflect it. She feels like now she will have to downgrade one of her skills in her routine to prepare for the state meet.
The low floor score cost her from getting first place all around in her division today.
She did great in the other 3 events, so ended up 4th AA.
