It's almost like they intentionally broke her spirit so she would make way for their poster child..... Dispite her being far better than Biles.....

@@punk303 They treated Biles the same way. The head coach always yelled at her for being happy at the training camps and told her to take gymnastics more serious instead of goofing around. Biles just did not care and kept on acting the same way she did, which keep the pasion for gymnastics, unlike Katelyn who agree with anything her coach said, even to compete with injuries and end up hating elite gymnastics. Katelyn was always the favorite over Biles, her coach was literally the dad of Nastia Liukin. She just burned out too quickly due to the high difficulty she was not ready yet. Biles really live rent free in your obsessive minds.

You can see the difference in her face then, when it was "work" for her. Now that she decided to "have fun", enjoy it, and let the scores be what they will be, she seems much happier, and in a better place mentally. Good for her.

@@olgamazlova5223 aaand again, someone body shaming women for their bodies! Ignorance words seem to be really loud in your comment. 1. Hormonal unbalance is nothing to be shamed of. Furthermore, it is a very ridiculous insult. 2. Having broader shoulders than hips is by far not a problem, not to say that of course it is not a hormonal problem or anything else. There is one thing called muscle. I bet you know what it is. PS: There is not just one feminine body type. (Seems ridiculous to have to still say this in 2019...)

It breaks my heart. In 90% of her elite performances in 2013, she looks defeated. No matter how the routine was, she comes off the floor looking so down. I'm so glad she rediscovered her love for the sport under healthier leadership. She's amazing!

I love Katelyn's musicality, specifically at 0:25 and 0:33. It seems like more and more gymnasts have recently just filled music with moves rather than trying to match it to any beat or tempo change. It's a lot more enjoyable to watch someone dance in a floor routine.

Its a World Cup event, so gymnasts who are on the World Cup circuit are invited. Rus, Rom, and Chn are invited and have often competed (Rus and Rom have won before) but this event is very early in the season, so if a gymnast is not ready, their country won't send them.

The all around final this year is going to be awfully crowded: you've got Katelyn, Aliya, Larisa, Anastasia, Simone, etc. It's going to be a serious battle.

It's an FIG world cup event like Stuggart and Glasgow. So it's on the FIG website. In a nutshell they go down the list of AA from worlds or Olympics and invite and if a decline they go furthur down. Country can sub in different person if nessessary. Russia, Romania, and China all declined. It's early, some of lack of prep, or different events etc... So there is a system.
