What is a Savannah cat?
A savannah cat is a domestic cat breed that has a % of African serval wild blood. They are known to love water, swimming, running in the shower with you. Being extremely affectionate and bonded to their owners while still maintaining the independency of a cat. They still use the litter box and lower generation savannahs can eat high quality regular cat food. They are known for extreme intelligence, constant purring, their high energy , playing fetch, and being easily trainable for commands. These “savannah cat qualities” are more prevalent in the highest generation as they have the most African serval blood.
The attraction to the Savannah cat breed comes from their dog like personality and beautiful aesthetic. They are highly intelligent and can be taught tricks just as a dog, and the word “no”. Savannah cats can be walked on a harness. All while still retaining the independence of a cat, as adults they are not as reliant on their owners, especially in pairs. First generation savannahs can grow up to 40 lbs and 4 feet tall on their hind legs.
If raised right F1 Savannah cats love to follow their human around, and lay in bed with their owner. They are cuddle bugs and vocal. Often times they love to swim if introduced at a young age. They are extremely affectionate, and have huge paws that they can pull inward to give incredible hugs. They will follow you in the shower and in the tub. All our savannah cats and kittens are raised in home (in bed lol) with access to a outdoor enclosed area. They love to sunbathe and play fetch. They love to give “headbutts” , kisses and licks as a sign of their love. Savannah cats have a way of completely imprinting on their new human in the first few days.
Whats the difference between F1 , F2 and lower generation savannah kittens?
The qualities defining the breed are all more true in higher generations .The higher generation the savannah the more wild in appearance, the clearer of a coat that more resembles that of a serval, the bigger ears, overall size weight and height.
Why not just own a serval as a pet?
While servals can be awesome pets if bred and raised correctly, they are unfortunately illegal in most states to keep as a pet.
How much do real f1 savannah kittens cost?
Depending on their assessment, real deal F1 savannah go from $15,000 to $20,000.
What is phase 2?
Phase 2 is something implemented by responsible breeders who care if their F1 will be pet quality or a complete nightmare for their new owners. It's the method in which responsible breeders domesticate their F1s fully.
What kind of diet for F1 Savannah cats eat?
F1s require a raw diet mostly containing raw chicken and some raw ground beef. They are not feed any raw meat with bones until 1 year of age. There are some specific canned foods available such as Zupreme to supplement their diet.
How do you raise them ? Do they do well with dogs?
All our kittens are raised n our homes by our staff of over 20 caretakers and dogs. We do not cage our breeding animals their entire lives. We have regular swim days and walking trails with our bigger cats. Savannah cats can love dogs as if they were one of their own.
What does F1 Savannah Kittens stand for ?
We are against all unethical breeders. Breeders that use these cats as a cash grab. That put them in tiny cages and never allow them a fulfilling life. We are against the savannah cat cult culture as we describe it. The unfortunate truth about savannah cats is 90% of the websites are complete scams. Of the 10% of real breeders only 2% are decent humans. As nice as they may sound, we have seen how they treat every deal as a contract. They sell kittens that haven’t passed phase 2 and unfortunately due to the stress and unprepared owners - these kittens never truly become pets. They leave the kittens in the cage with the mom and don’t properly raise them with enough love to live up to breed standards.
Our end goal is to be the overtake a corrupted industry that benefits on the work of animals by installing only ethical breeders. Then putting the profit all back into a sanctuary for all cats alike. We appreciate all the love these kittens give us, and would like to put it all forward into a change for positive.

I rescued a lower gen savannah from the middle of the street! She was a kitten about to be smooshed. I took her home thinking she was just a sweet little tabby cat boy was I wrong! She is incredible. I can't believe how smart these cats are and how loving. She follows me everywhere. There's a special call I do for her to come and hunt palmetto bugs if one appears in the house. She finds it and takes it in her teeth downstairs. She has more than earned her keep!

I have an f5 savannah, he's colored smoke and black, and he's very affectionate, it was hard not to get attached to him the second I got him, because he kept purring and nuzzling me even though we just met! 🥰 Decided to name him Simba, he's currently 15 weeks!

Charging $20k for a cat doesn't mean you're a better breeder. It means you want to be rich off breeding cats.
They are extremely beautiful and graceful. While I want one, I know that I do not have the type of home where they would thrive. You all are so lucky to be able to raise and breed these amazing cats. I hope someday that I can meet one and interact with them.

@@karenbrandwein4759 I could absolutely handle a Siamese cat. However, I have a small 2 bedroom apartment and from what I heard on here, my home might be too small for them. I also work all day, so I would not be home enough to give it the attention it needs. I have 3 cats, and I wish I could be home more during the day to spend time with them.

Very beautiful cats ! My cat does all of those things. And she was a stray kitten. Cats are very very smart. I never knew this I've always had dogs in the house never a cat. The love is unconditional as well. Just like my dogs. Have a good weekend everybody

@strastechnology As MANY, MANY times as we humans have effed up "experiments" in nature (chemicals w/ crops, unsuccessful breeding, etc.), I am convinced the Savannah Cat is an unmitigated success. Aside from maybe finding it difficult for some people to keep up with typical Savannah's high energy patterns, their combination (Serval and domestic cat) to produce the Savannah was/is a stroke of genius. Now we cat lovers will get to see arguably the most beautiful of all domestic cat breeds in the Savannah. I think I want the F1, but shelling out upwards of $25K for a friggin' cat is over the top, IMO.

My cat too, I believe most cats have dog like qualities irregardless of their breed. Just takes a lot of socialisation, love, care and food. My cat gives his paw and used to sit, stay and roll over on command (until I had him castrated) 😬
i have one, F2, silver, hes loyal and very friendly, wont even kill a fly, but damn so much energy, and loves to cuddle, with his long legs he can jump anywhere, people scared of him think hes a wild cuz hes not ur normal house cat

@@naziakhan4053 i bought mine for 8k got him when he was 6 month, hes 15 month old now, its hard to get a f2 Gen, these guys in videos are f1 are 12k - 18k, quite more expensive, because its rare to find one, and they are not easy to take care of, if you are financial stable and have alot space, than you can do it, if you do highly get pet insurance with it, they have alot energy and get 2 cats instead of 1, or even a dog because they will drive you nuts if they dont have a friend, its worth it for me because everyone loves him, their vary approachable and loves to sleep with you,

I’m a f5 Savannah cat owner and if treated correctly they will be an amazing friend and companion I got my Savannah cat for free from their owner that believed that the cats 2 f5 Savannah cats that had been visiting us would be happier with us one of them was named ruby and sadly passed away after going out on a stroll by himself in which we believed that he was attacked by a fox or hit by a car he was my friend and it was sad but we got over it his sister is named honey and is still with us she sometimes brings us her prey as presents but she is a loving, kind and happy little f5 Savannah cat.
Side note! I want to be a foster mommy for one of these babies!!

My girl Shiva is technically a Savannah, she's the offspring of a full serval father and a 1/2 serval mom, and she's as sweet as they get. She needs her exercise, a lot of room for exploring, and she has a specific all-raw diet, but we love her like she's our child. Her temperament is pretty mild, we've worked hard socializing her and teaching her what is good behavior, so for the most part she acts like a 45lb housecat, but there are always precautions we take when she's introduced to new people or animals. Her main thing is cuddling and grooming, she gives me at least one good head-washing a day. 😆

Well said. The exotics are fine but when I was younger and much dumber I had a pet cougar. Not a good idea ever! He was not mean or wild but at 90 lbs. he could knock you off of your feet just being playful. He ate my couch as a toy one day. Came home to a house filled with tiny bits of fabric and foam as he had a ball shredding every cushion. He was so glad to see me as I came in the front door that he launched himself across the living room propelling me back out of the house on to my back in the middle of the yard. It was all I could do to get control of his collar and drag my ass back inside with him in tow while trying to get my wind back. And he was just glad to see me. Imagine if he was pissed off? In most ways he was just like a housecat...purred, curled up in bed...played with his toys. But that guy, Coogan, was NOT a housecat. They are extremely strong, lighteningly quick and still have some wild in them. I was a wrestling coach and weight-lifter and weighed twice what Coogan weighed....and I was no match for him! Fortunately I outgrew that irresponsible behavior. I neither had the facilities, the resources or the education to do something like that. Today I have three very happy rescue cats who I adopted 8 years ago and they are my life. I get the allure and the novelty of having these animals. I see videos of servals, bobcats, lynx and caracals as pets everywhere but there are SO many regular abandoned or feral domestic cats (and dogs) that need homes but are euthanized or just left to struggle on their own that I question the need or motives to breed and bring the exotics into our homes. And I would be curious as to how many are eventually given up to shelters, etc. when the misguided owners find them too much to handle or they just lose their novelty. That has to be cruel. They are incredible and beautiful animals. But please, not pets.

You can adopt Savannahs and Bengals. Unfortunately many of them end up in shelters because people surrender them when they realize how much attention they need. You can find groups on FB specifically for adoption of these breeds.

I love cats but have always had dogs too, I want a pet that can be independent but also cuddle and play, I feel like I might just have found my breed. I've had dogs and cats of all sizes, and most of them were wild rescues, so I think I can say I have the experience to get an F1

Dont let them fool you - these cats are like Bengals they do not cuddle unless they realize there in a bad habitat and become lazy. The big one you see in the video is constantly overused breeding so she is always tired and she does look pretty aged. But young cats are always energetic and depending on the breed the more energetic they will be no time to cuddle with you lol

They are BEAUTIFUL. Is there a rescue service available for people who purchased them without knowing how expensive or how to properly care for them? I truly love your concern for the PROPER care and treatment for them!!!! I would love to learn more about them especially, given their intelligence, would be well suited for emotional support animals.

We have a F4 Savannah male, beautiful silver with black rosettes, we love him, and yet at the same time wish he was slightly more affectionate. We also have some Maine Coon mixes from a pure bred Male we had some time ago that got a little frisky with a female that we were taking care of. If it came down to an affection level winner, the Maine Coons have it hands down, but the Savannah (MIDAS) is just as much a part of our family as any others !

Interesting how all of these “honest” exotic cat owners never reply to legitimate questions and are never showing off there “real” cats in bio pics or anything like that. They never post videos of them either because they would hate to post a video that pulls in a million views…

I have 3 bengals and they're a lot like savannahs, just smaller! I have 2 F3s and 1 F2, and I can definitely tell the difference in craziness!

Beautiful cats. What do you do to stop them from spraying inside the house? I have a Bengal and I neutered him, does that help with the Savanaah's ?
Once i own my own home I will have a Savannah cat. I love cats i love how this breed is so much like a dog.

On a job site I got to see one of the cats in person. These cats are awesome. They can climb ladders with ease, freaking cool cats. I wouldnt spend 20k on one....sigh.

@rdkndr1....I’m so very sorry for your loss, my guy; I know it hurts like hell because they (our pet guardians, as I sometimes like to think of them) become a part of your family, they become your friend and companion, and a part of your heart. In late ‘17 both of my girls passed away a little over a month apart, at ages 13 and 14 yrs old, and it hurt like hell. It’s now 2021, and there are still times, like around Christmas (they loved our tree, never tried to tear it down, they just loved to sleep under it or close to it) that I think of my girls and it still feels like someone’s squeezing my heart. It does take time because that bond you shared is still there on your end, and also because everyone processes grief at a different pace, but I promise you, that as time goes by, it will get easier to manage.
