Savage Big J. 22-250 Rem. playin with a new bullet. She's a keeper.

Financially speaking, I stumbled onto a new dog shooting bullet. But how is it going to work in the real world? This is where I start.

Very impressive results without load development. The Lee dies delivered great results. Always a pleasure to watch...thanks for the details too. 😎

Hornady Spire points in 22-250 was my go to bullet for PD's with 40 grains of WW760. In fact I burned up 3 barrels with it.

That is a keeper bullet for sure and best of all it's cheap too. I ended up in a group of goodies with a bunch of winchester 243 80 grain SP bullets for almost nothing. I prayed leading up to load development that they would shoot ok, and wow, they shoot great.

After nearly 50 years of playing with the 22-250, my initial go to load with any new gun is 34.5 gr. 4895 under a Hornady 55 spire, cci standard primer. USUALLY, the results are very satisfying and tweaks minimal to find the sweet spot. It appears you found it already.

I bet it sure is satisfying, to find a good shooting combination 1st time out.. 10 shots and call it a day. If a person could do that every time or every other time out, think of the dollars saved..However you'd get to miss the range time.. Or so it would seem.. God bless you and your loved ones Godspeed

I have been struggling with seeing my heartbeat in the scope as well on full magnification, I found that placing the stock off the ball of my shoulder, closer to my chest solved the problem. I think I was sitting too sideways at the bench. That rifle is shooting really well regardless.

I have been very happy with Barnes Varmiator 40gr with H380 powder in my Win. M70 1:14 twist. No worries about ricochet and it does a job on p-dogs and coyotes. Not hot loads, chronoed at 3900fps. VERY pleased with the Barnes products.

I like your videos, but I don't have a "good set of dies" either. My Steven's 22-250 shoots sub 3/4 moa 10 shot groups on average. My Tikka Varminter shoots even better, at 1/2 moa for 10 shot group average. I use 50gr v-max's and H4895 in both rifles. Good video's, but like a lot of guys, you think you need to have precision dies to produce precision ammo for your hunting rifle. That's just not the case, as they are not necessary. Your first 5 shot group at 7/8" center to center is not real impressive for that heavy of a rifle. Your second group looks much better. Keep up your good glass bedding videos.
