Renzo is a Sauze legend - he (and his son) have now taught three generations of our family over the decades !

Shout out for Andy, Karen and daughter Imogen arriving on Sunday with friends Laura, Gordon and Jack. Andy and Karen's first ever skiing holiday was in Sauze 32 years ago, when we had to negotiate the chair lift that you had to take off your skis and carry them under your arm! Thankfully I think that's long gone ☺️.

Four of us coming to Sestriere for our time skiing in Italy on Sunday (4th) to celebrate my 50th….please give a shoutout to Hamish, Stacey, Helena and Cammy….looking forward to lots of fresh snow later in the week ⛷️

Coming with my daughter, Lucy this Sunday! 🎉 We’re from Airdrie (between Edinburgh and Glasgow) so we get to enjoy both cities! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿. Anyway, looking forward to joining our fellow Brits 🇬🇧 and European 🇪🇺 cousins in the beautiful Alps ⛷️❄️

Stayed in Sauze 21-28 Jan. Conditions on piste were poor in general - some ok towards the edges, mostly very icy down the middle. Links were closed most of the week - I see they're currently open. Sestriere, Cesana, Claviere & Montgenevre are all in better shape than Sauze. We ended up spending a lot of time on the 285 bus... Doesn't seem to be many taxis in Sauze - they get booked early when conditions are poor. My advice if you're heading out this week and there isn't new snowfall... Familiarize yourself with the 285 timetable and practice your side-slipping...

Just finished a week here, only side slipping required was on the insanely steep and icy black section of the run from Montenevre to Clavieve.... Terrifying lol

On my way home tomorrow and although not all the runs are open those that are we were able to ski reasonably easy as decent intermediate skiiers. The bowl is doing ok as are the runs down to sportinia and red 12 to the mid station and Black 25 and Collo were fine yesterday from the top of Fratavie back into the bowl. There was more snow in Sestriere on Friday when we went but it was busier than over Sauze. If conditions stay as they are I would suggest stay high in the morning and ski below sportinia once the snow has had time to soften up a bit. A girl in our hotel paid €100 for a 1 hour boarding lesson she booked once here so if your thinking of having lessons book before you come either through James, your tour operator or direct online with the ski schools. Have a great holiday

Im in Sauze right now, return home tomorrow, and unfortunately this has been the worst ski week ive ever been on 😢 ive lost all ability in the conditions and lost all my confidence, literally like i cant ski anymore. There are patches of sheet ice on so many runs it is so difficult. Really hoping this hasnt made me too nervous to ski in future and get my confidence and ability back. Hope anyone travelling here in the coming weeks gets the much needed snowfall it needs!!

Hi. Have followed your weekly reports since coming to Sauze in 2022. I still watch each week, just to get my skiing fix 😊 A question for Chair Lift Chit Chat please. Are you able to find out if the bobsleigh track at Cesna used for the 2006 winter Olympics is open? Or will possibly open in future? I have been fascinated with Bobsleigh since the days when Raymond Baxter use to commentate on it (in black and white!) And have tried on multiple ski trips to get a ‘taxi bob’ or ‘tourist bobsled’ ride, so far without success. I found conflicting reports online as to if it was open or not in 2022. But having skied across to Cesana, it was very much shut then. Cheers. Jez.

Hey folks, where is the best place to get boots fitted in Sauze?

Compared to the French resorts Sauze pistes always seem so quiet in your videos, is this typical or just well timed? Looking forward to heading out there on the 25th group of 8 of us all doing a snow dance.

Fair play for to Via Lattea for the work they are doing on the pistes in difficult conditions. Are they ever going to open the red run back into Sauze from the top of Fraiteve?

Under 18's have to wear one, adults can make their own decision whether to wear one or not.
