Scripted or not, his face shows the weakness of India and all the countries in this region. If it is scripted it's a shame that he agreed to behave this way and that Indian fathers are shown to be this way vs. being supportive. India has always been and still is a culture that supports this pathetic idea that women are not as powerful, intelligent, talented, or useful as men, even that we are a curse. Not sure when men will evolve. The only reason a man would be angry about his daughter wearing this outfit is if he had ghatiya thoughts about other girls anyway. The only reason women are told to cover up is because men are disgusting and not taught to have class, manners, etc. These are girls are AMAZING. And that's not by Indian standards, but by international standards. These girls could have gone to America's not talent and would have been appreciated just as well. They have some really great control, technique, and choreography. I hope they do well. And I'm sure this sour faced, sorry excuse for a father will be right there to benefit from their success.

I don't think that her father was worried about small costumes. If this is so then he would had allowed to dance in first place. Her father's face is like that only no smile but he supported her daughter there is no doubt about that. Why we should comment how his father react or looks tence while she dance. she dances well that the point.
