No, the combined tour would be great, but not in the hands of the Saudis. I guess they would put a chador on the female players.

No, I’m not supporting anything to be in the Saudi’s control. Don’t let money tempt the sport to compromise our standards.

This is an opportunity for a western billionaire to provide the ATP/WTA another option. Bill Gates and Larry Ellison are both tennis fans. Let’s go gents!

I think there are some + and some - On the + side it could help the mid level and entry level player prize and appearance funding which is very poor currently. I'm wondering if there would be more joint WTA/ATP tournaments? like Indian wells?

I'm not sold on this idea without any more information. There is a talk about how it would equalize prize money but it doesn't talk about what it would do to other tourneys around the world and how they would be impacted. There are tennis fans all over the world but I do think that the players should have more say than anyone since they're the ones playing as well as the tournament directors having a say about how to improve player and fans experience to bring in more money to the sport. There's more I could say but I'll start with that.

This has to stop!!! We cannot live in a country in which all of our sports are being owned and controlled the Saudi’s. $2B is literally 10 days of oil profits for them. It’s pocket change for them! This is insane!! Stick with the D.A.R.E Program and “Just Say No!!!”

if the deal is accepted then SA will insist on their own 1000 event and very likely too the tour finals will be held there. And why should Jan be a problem ? What about a shared 1000 event with Brisbane and / or Sydney , swapping over mens and womens events so that there will always be tennis in both SA and Aus . But too much $ always spoils things, players won't come to tennis cause they love the sport, they'll just be $$$ Wh****, which is not good

Absolutely not. No blood money to make a handful of people rich. As I said with golf, principles and integrity take priority over making money, especially from a regime with a poor track record of treating people equally. I will not watch either if they affiliate with the PIF as much as I love the two sports. These sports are now being used as a pawn to help Saudi overcome their poor reputation, one which is deserved.

The Saudis are trying to control another sport. I question their motivation. Are they trying to control golf and tennis because they love the sports, I don’t think so. It means alot of money for the players so it is tempting. But how can we turn our heads and forget about their civil rights policies?

I'll be happy when the Brits aren't dominating so much. They revealed their deep xenophobia and unaccountability when Wimbledon banned players from two countries without even consulting with the player's councils or the tennis associations. They've lost credibility re: leadership for professional tennis.

If they just increase the money for the top players--I'd say NO. If they spread the money around so that lower level players can make a decent living playing tennis--I'd say YES. I have nothing against Saudi being a part of professional tennis. They are modernizing just like the rest of the world.
