One of the few times that Coronation Street was ever shown on Channel 4, but the reason here was justifiable due to the Granada strike the previous Monday meaning that the episodes were displaced, at the peak of the Ken, Deidre and Mike storyline. Unless you were there at half time at Old Trafford on the Wednesday… the rest was history.

His mention of Coronation Street at 00:43 reminds me of Victoria Wood's snarky announcer who says "He's not very popular with me, but I suppose working-class people find him amusing."

Like I said above, he’s probably a film buff and wants to be Barry Norman and hates soap opera’s, but this bit of late night continuity at channel 4 was all he could get at the jobcentre!!!!
