Danger, Will Robinson! When you're using that spindle roughing gouge on a cross-grain bowl or on end-grain and you get a catch that breaks your gouge in half at the handle, you'll remember never to do that again. It's not made for that. Don't do it or you'll be sorry! It WILL happen...

Time to buy a bowl gouge.

I'm sorry, I like to be positive but that's the worst example of woodturning I have ever seen. Unsafe use of some tools, scraping instead of cutting, cutting against the grain with a chainsaw, insufficiently clamped glue-up (that will go on a lathe), turning a structurally unsound piece of wood, unsafe mounting of a workpiece all indicate complete lack of knowledge in woodturning. I had to stop watching it is so bad. If you are considering taking up woodturning do not consider anything in this video as informative.

@@uwoo Unfortunately simply being positive doesn't excuse unsafe practices. Yes I am a professional, teach woodturning and demonstrate, but I didn't want to put that out front,so now I will say it like it is. You are misleading people who aren't able to distinguish safe from unsafe practices which is extremely unethical and are generally doing a disservice to woodturning by demonstrating extremely poor technique. I think you should take that video down. It's dangerous.

And even if you are a professional, continue your self-development, and do not write negative, do not waste your time. You have a chance to get even better.
