177% of the average water will only increase Lake Powell and Lake Mead by 3%. This means it's a management problem and not a drought problem. If 177% of average water only increases the reservoirs by 3%, the lakes would have never filled even after 30 years of significantly higher than average water flow. It's definitely a management problem and not a drought problem.

These are facts, and I think we can count on poor management of this years water influx yet again. By this time next year they will be screaming about drought yet again and people will forget.

I see no difference as the slider moves side to side. Is this just, "keep looking until you see something?" Waste of time...

The extra water is certainly welcome, but it's not exactly an insane impact on Lake Mead.

The extra water will buy us a few more years to figure out a long term solution. But government will have to do a better job than they have so far. Honestly, I don’t know how they’re going to do it.

Horseshoe Bend is located ABOVE lake Powell outside of Moab. Not sure it's relevant here. This maneuver ALWAYS pushes sane off the bottom and DOWN STREAM however sand is not being replenished due to Glen Canyon Dam

You are talking about a different horseshoe bend. The one downstream of Powell does exist

Horseshoe bend is downstream from Page Arizona. You can clearly see it on the satellite view.

If you follow the logic of the narration at the beginning (and I have not watched the rest before this comment), the whole purpose of these releases is to create places for campers on the river! Do yourself a favor..you can find plenty of videos that show the purpose of these releases from more informed sources. While this does create sand bars for campers, believe me, this is NOT the economic powerhouse that is driving these decisions! So, whenever you see a "documentary" that lies, watch it or don't, but just know that there is better information out there. You can choose to be informed by the wealth of actual knowledge out there or be informed by the deceivers. I am very much pro environment but I am so tired of seeing these documentaries that make assumptions that support their world view. My favorites are, of course, when the narrator pretends to tell you what the animal they are viewing is actually thinking. When you see this, RUN! My wife can almost read my mind, but she still can't! These documentaries would have you believing they have figured out how to read the minds of animals. Makes for great video and maybe even propaganda. Just do yourself a favor and seek out more accurate documentaries. There are plenty out there! This is not one of them! But you can still pull evidence from these, you just have to be a bit discerning. P.S. I don't respond to most of my comments so if you are looking to get some kind of rise from me, it will be ignored, so don't waste your time unless it makes you feel better.

Dumping Water or Releasing.... or just WASTING water... why not use all that Hydro Electric Power... sadly these dams have to be 90% full to make power??? Hoover Dam stops making power below 1050 feet... ??? hi-larious... 1000 foot DAM that cant produce power... Build Back Better.

A couple of things. Minimum power pool is around 950 feet. And the dam isn’t 1000 feet tall. It’s 1000 feet above sea level. The bottom of the boulder basin is actually around 5-600 feet above elevation so the dam is around 700 feet tall. The lower the water level gets, the less pressure there are to spin the power turbines so there isn’t enough pressure to generate power once water drops below a certain level
