Sasha Cohen is one of the most breathtaking skaters I've seen. I never tire of watching her skate to Romeo and Juliet. She is "Juliet" and a ballerina on ice and unmatched in artistry and exquisite lines. ❤

Whatever you think of Sasha, I think there’s one thing that cannot be argued: she has THE most beautiful position when she’s freely gliding across the ice. It’s her signature move......that special look. When I think of Sasha, even now in 2018, thats the picture that always comes to mind. And it’s a beautiful, elegant picture.

For me, and my limited knowledge figure skating, Sasha is the best skater I have ever scene. She just drifts through things so elegantly. Like a beautiful bird in flight. Sensual, easily. At one with the ice. I think she is one of those with a natural ability, that looks perfect with all things she does. There certainly have been more consistent performers by others. And I suppose more technically correct, by having beaten her. But we are talking small things. No one captures the beauty that she displays. Some Work hard at it champions, don't carry it off like her. She truly becomes a part of the music. I think her musical interpretation soars past others I have seen. Perhaps that, with exquisite positioning of her body for all things figure skating is nothing short of Heavenly. I enjoy many others, but she has my heart. Simply silky, soft, smooth, sultry, seductive, and perfect corigraphy, is the key.

Michael Walsh yes. She is soooo artistic. And that can’t always be taught .. it’s just in the way her body naturally moves. All the technicalities of skating can be taught, yes .. but this grace? and the way her body moves across the ice ? That can’t always be taught. She just has it💞

Sasha was born to skate to Romeo and Juliet. As Sandra Bezic said at the Olympics in 2006 she is Juliet. If only she had skated clean to that music in the LP in Torino it would have been one of the greatest figure skating moments of all time.

+Angie Montreal You cannot suggest that Sasha is without technique!! I'd rather see BEAUTY in motion than a jumping dervish! MissthingSings(?): I am certain that a number of people appreciate her gorgeous skating as much as I do and they are NOT younger than those who follow Michelle Kwan, any more than I am! (Sasha looks no more a "little girl" than I do!!)

+Angie Montreal Sasha should never have been a figure skater? Really??????? She NEVER fully rotated in the air? I suggest you go back and watch some videos. If her spirals are so mediocre, why the +3's on grade of execution? Extension is a factor. I realize she does not have an Olympic gold medal or a world championship gold medal but if that were the criteria, there would be a lot of individuals who should not be figure skaters. After all, she only has an Olympic silver medal, 3 world championship medals, 7 U.S. National medals, including a gold, and 9 Grand Prix medals, including a gold and a silver. She must have done something right and I do know figure skating!

I think the only Russian girl who came close to Sasha’s artistry was Yulia / Julia Liptniskaya and it’s a shame she had to retire. Not only did Yulia posses the crazy flexibility / extension, but like Sasha had a refined touch to it. She wasn’t just flailing her arms, she was graceful. ❤️

Artpop Hybrid I don’t think so. I think Alina is a special talent + has the artistic elements down, but I think Evgenia’s best is yet to come. I never thought she was the best at her “best”, truthfully thought she was over scored, but she’s talented no doubt. That and, she’s got a lovely attitude & I know she’ll do very good with Brian. Curious if Eteri will be warmer with Alina now that Evgenia is gone from her.

Claudia Peregrina Maybe, there's no doubt Evgenia is talented and is very competitive but there is no way she can win if Trusova at the age of 15 16 is able to do 2 quads. There's no way.. i think she should retire, at the next Olympics she will be 21...

I miss when ice skating wasn't so heavily based around jumps. Obviously they were always important, but now it seems like jumps are the most highly sought after skill. I want to see more routines that have jumps spaced through out the routine and not crammed into the second half for extra points. It's impressive that some of the current skaters can pull off such complex jumps and so many, but I'm afraid that it comes at the loss of artistry and gracefulness. It makes me think about how gymnastics is now all about massive tumbling passes interspersed with jerky movements. Please excuse my rambling.

If Sasha would have stayed with Tarasova she just may have gotten that Oly gold medal. This program & its music was just outstanding for Sasha (here and in 2006 with the changes). But Tarasova must have worked her .... look how muscular and fit Sasha is here. In 2006 she was just skinny. This look is much better and her skating here has the added element of that strength.

Not true. Yulia was great, but Sasha’s interpretation and line were still better. Yulia tended to rush her movements a little and she could be stone faced sometimes. Her Schindler’s List program was a masterpiece, though.
