Sarunas Marciulionis: USSR + Lithuania highlights
Спорт
I wanted to create a video that would show how good and explosive Sarunas Marciulionis was. A very underrated superstar up until this day. He had a modern type of game because, in the 80s and 90s, very few European guards possesed the body, strength, athleticism and overall technique that Marciulionis had. Maybe none of them. In my opinion, he is one of the three best guards in the history of European basketball. As a pioneer and embassador of the game in the United States, he usually gets much more credit over there, but at the other side of the Atlantic he usually gets ignored when compared to other greats like Drazen Petrovic, Sarunas Jasikevicius, Juan Carlos Navarro, Vassilis Spanoulis, etc. In his absolute prime, he might be even better than all of them. So, there you go.
The footage shown in this video belongs to the following international tournaments: 1987 Eurobasket, 1988 Christmas Tournament, 1988 Olympics, 1992 Olympics and 1995 Eurobasket.

He is certainly in my top 10 favorite players of all time. He had such quick hands and was so much stronger than the NBA players of his size.
congratulations about long presentation of this super player. He is my favourite player with Drazen Petrovic.I agree with you that in his prime time,he had a lot of injuries, he was the best guard in europe espesially 1988,1992,1995.IF you have another videos of him show to us please.
Incredibile player, a bull with strong hands, my second european guard of all times before Parker, Djordevic Delibasic
A medio pasito de Petrovic y Sabonis. El europeo más americano por físico de siempre. Una delicia verle jugar.
įspūdinga!
super clase, muy buen jugador
I was born in Seattle, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. I like to shoot Sarunas Marciulionis 17-footers and Sarunas Marciulionis 3-pointers. I own SONICS 30, KINGS 13, and LITUVEA 13 MARCIULIONIS jerseys. Mar-see-uh-Lee-oh-nis!!
Basketball Digest used to do "Who's Better" features. In 1991-92, "Who's better, Dan Majerle or Sarunas Marciulionis" would have been a good one. Marciulionis more a pure scorer and drawer of free throw attempts, Majerle a better defender and 3-point shooter and rebounder.
top 5 ever
