There was a pact made before christianity came which was fulfilled till today. After christianity came and both Assyrians and Armenians became among the first nations to accept christ, it cemented their pact. Unfortunately for Assyrians they have no land today

@@Fatkidlovecake i think DNA analysis has shown recently that these two groups of people were in fact the same people or derived from the same tribe thousands of years before Assyria and Armenia were nations. presently there are many assyrians that live in Armenia. some of my closest friends are Assyrian.

@@ht8384 we have similarities because of mixing but Armenian are indo European linguistically and genetically. There are studies on the haploid groups. Assyrians are homogeneous group that are Semitic and native to that area in the levant. There are some assyrians in armenian but not many. I wonder why none go there after many persecutions there is no history of Assyrians fleeing to their armenia in mass, which is odd considering it’s their only ally in the region

@@Fatkidlovecake watch a video on youtube called armenian DNA project. it explains it. it was a research project conducted by a company, and it was presented by the library of congress. also linguistics have almost nothing to do with, genetics. language is learned. i think the video said that R1B1 gene both groups have showed that they came from similar tribe 17,000 -12,000 years ago. or something like that. i haven’t seen it for a while. i would watch it. it explains it.

Many Assyrians as well as Armenians went through genocide, moreover Assyrians lost their state and opportunity to be localised long time before. Armenia also being under the pressure of Byzantine, Persians, Ottoman, Russian empires barely at least could preserve until 1915 localisation of the Armenian nations. Many Assyrians being among Armenians find cultures and mentality so close, almost identical, still are trying to preserve their Assyrian heritage in Armenia
