Living and growing up in the northeastern part of the US, I've only heard this folk song with the opening phrase beginning on the anacrusis, specifically beat 4, which is why I don't use this song for the younger grades. Did you intentionally begin this song on the down beat?

You're right about this song needing to start on that anacrusis or pick up beat. I sort of look at this video now as an example of when I had a good idea that was wrong, but I took it all the way through and made the video, but still see it as wrong. So yeah, if I could redo it, and maybe someday I will, I would fix that rhythm and build a better ostinato to fit with the correct rhythm.

Please fix the spelling of rhythm near the end! Otherwise, love this for my special needs students who need things a little slower!

I can't believe I missed that misspelling! Thanks for pointing it. I've remastered the audio for this one and am planning a rerelease, so I'm glad to find this misspelling too before I repost it! Thanks!
