4:28 the sound of the lapel-mic is very bad, compared with the hand-held version. Would it be possible to upgrade the B1-set (only 1 transmitter) by buying an additional transmitter, or is the B2-receiver different from the B1? Thanks for the great review!

If I got 2 of these kits and a splitter cable, could I record 4 microphones at once? Would there be any significant drawbacks? (I suppose I would only be able to control the audio for each system instead of for each of the 4 mics?).

Nope. Here's an excerpt from a review at Bandhphoto.com: "The Saramonic Blink 500 system operated differently. It summed both transmitters into a single stereo transmission-they were mixed together equally in both channels, making independent editing impossible. If I wanted to edit my own voice, my friend’s voice also fell prey. I confirmed with the company that this is the case: it is designed for applications such as KZread and Twitch, where people don’t usually edit audio in such a deep manner. If you want to record editable audio on stereo channels, you’re advised to purchase a second receiver independently, as well as a simple splitter, to plug each receiver into your DSLR, or your stereo recorder’s 3.5mm input. This is still not that much money, all things considered."

Left the RX and TX docked inside the box and after 5 days I checked up on it. the charging dock is drained... Does it mean that we cannot leave the devices docked?

Another great video Chris! I just got the Comica BoomX-D D2 but I'm encountering an issue where the receiver is not showing the audio level for one channel (when used in Stereo mode). It's likely defective so now I'm thinking of replacing it with this. Re: the micro-USB port, have you tried plugging it in to your PC/Mac to see if it recognizes it as a device? Would be awesome if it did recognize it _and_ be able to use it as a mic too.

Make sure you order the Saramonic SC2002 3.5MM -> lightning adapter instead of using Apples MFI certified one. I'm getting static in the recording. My voice is great quality, but when im not talking, its just making a hissing sound. On my samsung device, There's no interference. Just a warning.

The Blink 500 units we received are absolute garbage - We owned the previous non LCD versions and had no problems - these units haver been back to the shop 3 times in 6 months. Receiver broke, one mic broke, charging unit broke, then intermittent cut offs from repaired units. Customer service does not exist - warranty not worth the paper it's written on!

Saramonic has released the Blink 500 Pro X which is even better than the 500 and "destroys' the Rode even more. There is also the 900 but I actually think the 500 Pro X is an upgrade of the 900, not the 500 Pro. I have a great dislike for Rode's unfriendliness and their complete lack of care about essential accessories. A carrying case such as the one that comes with the Saramonic is not a luxury . It's an absolutely essential accessory because it protects the kit, it keeps everything organised in one single place, it makes it easy to fit in an already full backpack.
