Sarajevo - A Tour Of The City That Changed The World!

In this video I'll take you on a tour of Sararjevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This is the city in which the 1914 assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand happened, an event that sparked World War I.
A city that suffered the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare, for a total of 1,425 days, from April 1992 to February 1996, during the Bosnian War.
It's a city that still shows its scars, but also it's hope.
We'll explore the Otterman era old quarter of Baščaršija as well as its more European side, separated by just a line across the street. We'll touch on it's history, eat the food and see it's new side.
Come along and explore this fascinating city!

Great video. I visited Sarajevo for the first time about 3 weeks ago. This video reminded me of all the amazing places I visited there. Indeed, to this day, you can still feel that the city is still recovering from the war even though it was over about 30 years ago but there are still some scars there. There're still visible signs of it everywhere; bullet holes, cemeteries, monuments, mortar shell memorials (Sarajevo Roses), and many others! The food is amazing, especially the Cevapi, I was eating it every day! Thanks for sharing this great video about a beautiful that was once the center of the world when it hosted the 1984 Winter Olympic Games.

@ChrisKermis I hope you will! I also visited Mostar and spent one day there. I have a travel blog by the way where I write about different travel experiences. I remember watching your videos about Morocco and that inspired me to visit the Sahara area in Morocco, too bad it was cold and rainy when I was there 😁 By the way, you should try former Soviet Union countries, they're the best 😊

Subscribed! I am going to Sarajevo next month and your video was suggested to me. I really appreciate the history lessons. So many travel vloggers just make it about themselves, or swoop in and film the things they've heard about on social media. I look forward to being educated in more of your videos.

Thank you again for your support 🙏 It was a nice surprise and really interesting. People were also generally pretty friendly. I stayed on the former Ottoman side near the pigeon in a superb apartment and the owner insisted on driving me to the airport when I left. Had a great time talking with him about the Middle East.

There are so many people there because they're all tourists, the shops there are all geared twds the tourists - rebuilt with new easy-access pedestrianised streets, and that tourist trap is the main place to visit. And you find that 'wonderful'. OK.
