Sarah Lancashire Filmography | 2000-2020

Enthralled by Sarah Lancashire's brilliant acting in Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax, I decided to watch everything she’d been in that I could find and ended up with a fascinating collection spanning twenty years. This, of course, does not make for a complete filmography, as her career started more than a decade earlier, but it is, to the best of my knowledge, complete from 2000 onwards.
This video is dedicated to the magnificent Sarah Lancashire, whose work has moved me and entertained me and brought me so much joy over the past few years!

Sarah is superb. Her beauty and poise leapt out of the screen and straight into my heart. She is an exquisite and talented woman.

I've loved watching her the last few years in The Paradise, Last Tango in Halifax and Happy Valley. I seem to have missed most of her earlier work. Apart from Clocking off. You can spot the times she has worked previously with other actors.

She really is!
God she's like the Meryl Streep of The UK. Julianne Moore, Cate Blanchett, & Rooney Mara are also brilliant at morphing into a Character.
Thank you so much for making this compilation!! She truly is an unfathomable talent and I am such a huge fan. Will be able to watch some new things that I hadn't seen before now! Always exciting!!

I think Sarah Lancaster is a brilliant actress. I discovered her in Happy Valley, then, I had to look at Last Tango in Halifax. You are really blessed, in UK, with your great actors
She played a French celebrity chef Julia Child in the TV show Julia on HBO
I was thinking... You've missed out Where the Heart is, but she left before 2000!!! Great compo. 🙌👍

Thank you! I would have loved to go back into the 80s and 90s with this project, but I found it really difficult to find the things she was in before 2000.

I still remember when she moved into the Farmhouse on Last Tango in Halifax. I cringed but she took that Home and really turned it around. I wonder if she "Sold" her Old House because it was too painful to live without Kate. I also would have loved to have seen an Episode where Caroline sees what Kate left her and Flora.
Is there any British actor or actress she hasn't worked with? Great in everything.

Sarah is brilliant ... unfortunately, however, in California we can only get a fraction of these performances ... we can't even view Happy Valley Series Three as yet.

Do any of you know if she's going to be part of any Coronation Street Anniversary Specials. If it were up to me next year at The Emmys for even the Daytime Emmys that award work for various Shows ie Game Shows & Soap Operas have someone talk about how alot of the Actors that they see on Downton Abbey, Victoria, Granchester, and Gentleman Jack made their Bones on UK Soaps.
Love this compilation!!! But couldn’t find any anywhere to watch any of her tv shows shown on this clip, especially the early ones :( may I ask how you got these clips and where I can watch them properly?? :)

I'm so happy you liked my video and so sorry I never got back to you! It honestly took quite a lot of time and effort to find them, especially the earlier ones. I found most of them online but some I had to order as DVDs. It's been three years, but if you tell me which ones you're interested in I'll try to remember where I got them.

Isn't it amazing how Sarah Lancashire, Juliet Stevenson, and Colin Firth all played Gay Icons. Sarah in Last Tango in Halifax, Colin in A Single Man with Julianne Moore directed by Designer Tom Ford and Juliet Stevenson in Mona Lisa Smile who was the School Nurse who lost her Partner to death.

The portrayal of Caroline in LTIH was so convincing. Same sex relationship played so beautiful and loving without being smutty or vulgar. Nina Sosanya was a perfect choice and her acting as Kate was a joy to watch. I cried when she was killed off. 😢
