We take the wonderful voice and phrasing as read. What is so impressive is the acting. It is as good as anything seen by any great Shakepearian actress of any generation. Very well done indeed!

Only Colin Davis could let a singer take this this slow and it still be so damn exciting. Love her. Love him. Can't wait for the full dvd.

@phantomunmasked I absolutely agree about Sarah Connolly's superb singing and acting. If you could upload "Parto, Parto" it would be very much appreciated.

And BelAir Classiques have confirmed in an email that "the DVD should be out very soon". I have 19 recordings of "La clemenza" (my favourite Mozart opera) on disc and DVD, and the only one that I still can't get hold of is a live La Fenice performance conducted by Mackerras: anyone know it?

Hello, Arashi110. Do you know if this performance will be released on DVD? I thought it would be, perhaps mistakenly, simply because Aix-en-Provence's 'Traviata' with Dessay (also from 2011) was released a few months ago. Thanks.
