Before watching this episode I already know that it will be great. Dame Sarah Connolly is extraordinary!
She's my neighbour. I love it when she's home and she goes out to walk her dog and sings to herself. I had no idea she was Dame though!
Superb performer. Lovely voice . I admire her persistence. Astonishing that it took so long to begin her career as soloist
I loved her performance in Giulio Cesare (Glyndebourne) in the role of Cesare, together with Danielle De Niese in the role of Cleopatra!
Well, this came up on my KZread suggestions, and, knowing Sarah so well (our friendship goes back to our RCM days) I just had to watch. I can tell you that Sarah had the most magnificent voice right from the start - and we all admired her enormously from student days. In fact, I once said to her (probably in our 3rd year together) that she’d sing Das Lied Von Der Erde far better than the famous celebrated mezzo on a recording I’d just bought. She laughed! But I was right. And she has achieved that and far more. And, as you suggest, she’s also brilliant in jazz. She’s just an all round phenomenal musician and actress who makes a role her own. If you admire Sarah, you’re bang on the mark. She’s the best inspiration you can have. And she’s a genuinely special person - an incredibly loyal friend and a passionate advocate of the great art of music - however much that causes discomfort to politicians and their ilk. Brava, Sarah! And well done you for profiling her!

Encore une belle découverte grâce aux zouz !! Mais la série touche à sa fin, et à mon grand étonnement il n'y a pas encore eu de vidéo sur Jonas Kaufmann, alors que j'avais cru comprendre que c'était un de tes ténors préférés... 🤔
