After this episode I stood up and started clapping. I'm speechless about this one, it was an emotional rollercoaster. From the visual storytelling to the inner conflicts, boruto is truly untouched as the best newgen and certainly a contender for the best anime of all time.

Funny thing is. If Choji fought all out to the death, chunin exam Choji can beat Sasuke. If he used just the second pill, Sasuke has no response to giant people and things. Only Gaara and Gamabunta summoning Naruto are stronger than Choji in the chunin exams.

ChoCho also has lightning release so chidori from an elemental standpoint isn’t the best matchup

Everyone is talking about Sarada but Chocho is pretty impressive too. She mastered butterfly mode at such a young age compared to Choji. It's kind of odd how the main characters get to have most of both of their parents' abilities while Team 10 don't, despite all being prodigies and even though they seem to have implied that they train a lot and hard.

I'd argue It's a bit of bad writing on the writers behalf. Chouji almost died and had to use special pills to achieve that form, meanwhile Cho Cho just got it because... Like imagine if Metal Lee could just open 5 gates without any drawbacks

@@panem1901 I think the reason that Chocho got it earlier than Choji because Chocho is confident. Choji wasn't confident with himself until in the war arc and wasn't a big fan of training either. He only mastered it after he gained confidence in himself. On the other hand, besides being born a prodigy, Chocho is also confident in herself and trains a lot too even without needing a lot of motivation. Her skills was actually noted by Shino in the first several episodes of Boruto.

That’s because Choji invented it, the same way naruto learned rasangon faster then Minato and boruto then did it faster then naruto. Because they have a teacher that was better then the one they had. Makes sense she can already do it. But Sarada has all ready mastered many different Justus and has better fighting, kuni/Shurikin skills and iq then basically every one her age.

Whoever is writing for Cho-Cho at the studio is doing amazing. I love that she’s so many things all at once: slightly boy crazy, super stylish, willing to give it her all, confident, caring, strong, a great friend, someone who gives decent potato based advice, and someone who understands the importance of promises made to friends. Her crying at the end really got me. I know this isn’t cannon, but I love the character arc, and I hope she progresses in the novels too!

Well in a game (I forgot what was that), Sarada has a technique called "lightning drill". She's coating her fist with lightning. She's going to attack her enemy with monster strength and electrified them at the same time, so it doubles the impact of destruction. I believe that technique will first introduced after time skip of Boruto.

@@lorcajhonphilip7801It’s a fun idea to make the kid’s style have attributes of both parents but Sarada’s unfortunately comes at the expense of Naruto’s continuity. Lightning style attacks are most effective as piercing moves. The 3rd raikage exeplified that with his Hell Stab technique. The technique is least effective when he uses a fist because it’s so blunt compared to a finger. If the writer’s were bigger sticklers for the series own lore then Sarada’s punches should actually decrease the potency of her lightning.

​@@kaidestinyz it is indeed stronger. during her first round with the Chidori and due to her inherited ability to control her chakra, her speed was faster than Kakashi or Sasuke when they do it - Kawaki and Mitsuki were both left stunned at how fast she moved past them. If you count the games as canon, Sarada can inflict lightning through her fists and destroy a bigger area when paired with Sakura's attack

We all knew Sarada was going to win, but I'm glad ChoCho put up a good fight.

Chocho crying after this fight broke me a little.. I feel like she genuinely gave it her all.. although it wasn’t enough she didn’t want to fail her team.. I think she’s gonna train harder now especially after losing the chunnin exams twice

I wish they would add more lightning style to Cho-Cho's roster from her mother like they do both styles for everyone else. Bit this episode was so epic and way to go for making the females badass. Well played and keep it up.

I really like how earlier in this fight chocho said “you really think you could beat me without trying” and Sarada’s saddened face. Chocho really grew as a person and strength wise she is amazing

I don't think many give this enough emphasis because if ChoCho didn't motivate Sarada, regardless of her physical strength would have lost this bout because of her lacking mental state going into this fight. I like Sarada but I respect ChoCho more after this fight as she grew tremendously.

Well , don’t forget that Choji is the one who taught her as we saw in previous episodes before. So he probably showed her a way to unlock the mode without having to take the pills and be on the verge of death like Choji was. Since Choji is experienced. Basically, part of becoming a prodigy at a young age is having the RIGHT teacher.

Based on the comments, the Butterfly Mode is so underrated . Back in Naruto days, when I firs saw Choji eat the *Tongarashigan* to activate that mode, it's said it makes the user 100x stronger, Choji easily blocked *Cursed Seal Jirobo's* attack *with one hand* , then Choji concentrated all those wing-shaped chakra to his hand to do the final attack, the crater it created is bigger than the *Rasengan's* That time I thouht effect of Tongarashigan = Rasengan (or even stronger, base on las attack's crater)

They didn't show the wing-shaped chakra to concentrate on Cho Cho's hand thouh, makin it look like "Cho Cho's hand vs Cidori", when it's a clash of chakra like "Rasengan vs Chidori". Can wathc Choji vs Jirobo and see the final attack of Tongarashigan

I like how Sarada runs into melee only to immediately retreat and just fire bomb the area. Truly some Uchiha level tactical genius.

I really did love this fight, the emotion, the realization of what you might have to do when your a shinobi, and the physical feeling of Chocho crying because she still lost, I felt them all, I really love these characters and hope they keep progressing

definetely the greatest kunoichis fight in the whole franchise. the growth of chocho is amazing!!

This episode made me respect ChoCho a lot more. I really like her character now! She’s able to tank a fireball and use her expansion in new ways! She’s definitely a cool character in my eyes now

Things to take from this fight: 1. Chocho is strong enough to match Sarada's taijutsu with an awakened sharingan. 2. Chocho is already using the butterfly mode at age 13 without the pills. Something that Choji could only do during the war arc at age 17. 3. Chocho's durability is strong enough to clash with Sarada's Chidori using her butterfly mode. Even though Sarada is stronger than her, Chocho is no joke! EDIT: Chocho wasn't even fazed by Sarada's Chidori. She literally said: "Come at me!" 😂🔥🔥🔥 This is the development we like to see.

@@EfecanYSL no, because she's been able to use her butterfly mode since the beginning of the series (op clearly hasn't watched the show). She just hasn't used it in combat (to the audience's knowledge). Plus, all butterfly mode does is rapidly convert the user's fat cells into chakra; seeing how intense the upgrade is to the user's strength and durability as demonstrated by Choji's fight against Jirobo and ChoCho's ability to match the Chidori's power, it's safe to assume the Akimichi clan's technique is analogous to irl fat cell-energy conversion, which releases about 2x the energy of glucose. With that being said, that rapid of a conversion releases a lot of chakra, so it's not unbelievable that she could at least match the Chakra output of a chidori. That's why there was an explosion after the collision.

Pretty neat animation and interesting characters due to years of character development. I love how this show has steadily improved and proven critics wrong over the years.

That footstep that crushed the stone was Chou-chou pushing off the floor to start her charge. As the GOAT himself once said: "Float like a butterfly, walk like a dinosaur."

I liked the parallels this fight had with the Ino vs Sakura episode, and Choji’s character. Sakura got mad at Ino for not going all out because she didn’t want to hurt her which probably hurt Sakura’s pride, and it’s the same thing in this Sarada vs Cho Cho fight. Also, I like how unlike her father Choji who was too soft and didn’t want to hurt his friends not even in sparing, Cho Cho didn’t hesitate even though she didn’t want to fight her friend. As for Sarada, I like how she actually went all out after, and didn’t hold back on that chidori, did you see the speed she ran with that thing? Also, Cho Cho’s butterfly mode is cool, and I hope she develops it

The amount of emotions put into the episode was amazing. The animation was also fire!! I rewatched the final clash way too many times. Loved every second of the episode. I also loved the character development for both of these girls! The unison sign at the end just shows how much they love each other.

I honestly agree! Something that's annoying me a lot is the implication that the winner is gonna become chunin when in the OG series people simply needed to display the skill/intellect of a chunin to become one. That's why Shikamaru ended up becoming chunin despite "losing the match." Wasabi didn't show at all in her match that she deserved to be chunin. It'll be really BS if she becomes chunin over Cho Cho because "the winner should become chunin."

I got Mistky as the top genin behind Boruto. It's crazy because Mitsky is one of the least-respected Genin despite his abilities. Everybody is like "I dont wanna fight Boruto or Sarada or Houki", but Mitsky is just as dangerous, if not more so due to his sage mode

honestly, one of the best episodes in Boruto, idk why but that fight and Cho Cho's tears and talk afterwards hit pretty hard

@@jeremyjo210 Not sure where you got that from. Sakura vs Shin is episode 23 and if you look at animeblue00's outsorce list for Boruto you'll see that episode 23 is pierrot only. Sasuke vs Otsutsuki? Like, Kinshiki? Cuz that wasn't Jiwoo either that was taken from the movie and even had a whole minute of the fight cut out. Sarada's first chidori aka episode 207 was a collab between Jiwoo and Pierrot and Jiwoo mostly handled the dialouge parts and pierrot handled the rougher parts. For example, the chidori. Naruto's baryon mode again, 216 was a collab between Jiwoo and Pierrot and Pierrot handled the Baryon transformation and did the entirety of 217 (the fight + kawaki showing up). Again SAME story with this episode, Jiwoo handled the easier to animate parts like the dialouge and Pierrot did the hard part.

if you think abt it, one of the reasons chocho probably didnt die on the spot after being hit with the chidori was because its implied that she trains with karui who uses lightning style. idk im spitballing but it might be a factor along with the butterfly mode

this episode was amazing ! and watching the "fillers" made everything hit harder for sure . i'm glad they showed us more of chocho's character instead of her always worrying about her looks wth this is the first time i come back to find so many likes . tysm

Chocho is definitely strong, probably the strongest on this exam besides Team 7, but i feel like Sarada holded back a lot, she adjusted the chidori power to not rip her friend's arm off, plus there are many jutsus in her craft that she didn't use, like the raiton armor, genjutsu, fuuton and kage bunshin

Yeah she doesn't have the deep wells chakra sasuke had at her age, but makes up for it with better controls

I was honestly believing that her 3rd wheel eyes would awaken since she had to fight her best friend. Givin that she awakened her sharingan differently from her father through intense emotion. This was a nice fight 👏🏾

Chocho did amazing. Much much better than what i expected

This fight had some heavy Naruto vs Sasuke vibes and I LOVE that Cho-Cho is getting respect

When it comes to Sarada using her Chidori, animations are shockingly good. 😊⚡

Sarada really has inherited Sasuke's power and speed when he was her age. She's also quite graceful in combat too. I really want Sarada to win the fight. ChoCho is pretty full of herself sometimes, although it seems she has her moments that proves she's a true and loyal friend to Sarada.

I think chi cho has gone through some good character development in "fillers". She used to be a lot more self absorbed, now she shows how much she cares about her friends and shares her chips.

Chocho needs some of her mother's techniques. Her mother wasn't at all a weak konoichi she was a skilled kenjutsu user and a cloud shinobi which means she was skilled with lightning release as well. Adding some kenjutsu to her fighting style Chocho would definitely be the strongest konoichi in all of Konoha. I say all of Konoha because I believe Sarada will be god level by the time she's 15 so "strongest konoichi of the leaf" is some what beneath her as a title.

They're both probably going to come back after the time skip having mastered their mothers's jutsus. And I actually think there's allot Chocho could do with combining her parents abilities. She really be some form of Killer Bee of her generation. It would be very neat to see, I hope they don't neglect her.

In the second or third Boruto book, we learn that chocho can use raiton and has an attack called : "lightning speed"
