My lord. What a spirit; Sarah, you schooled him on wrapping cables like a battle hardened road dog. The same thing happened to me when I was 18 and working at a gear rental place. Gerald, I'm sorry that you had to go through that. I've been there. But also, dude, what was that wrap job? Bet you did it around your elbow too, didn't you! Love the series.

Over under is really for relieving the coils within the cable so they don’t get stressed. But yes also making it easier to unwind

GERALD. I'm CRUSHED. For someone wish such a vast knowledge of all things tech and camera, I am honestly surprised you weren't aware of the over-under! It keeps the core wires of a cable from twisting and breaking internally (I'm sure you're sick of hearing this, so I also apologize for bringing it up again) and when it comes to solid-core cables, it's an absolute must. I was taught this when setting up satellite dishes on film sets in Toronto. It was winter, and cold copper-core satellite cables would snap from one or two wrong wraps. If one broke, you not only had to fix it, but you weren't coming back. Ever since then I've passed on my trauma to everyone else who didn't know the over-under, just as any good samaritan should. Hope you're doing well and love your content, just wanted to share a story :)

You have no idea how excited I was when she was like "for all you musicians out there, I over-under my cables."

Sitting indoors getting even less exercise than our very chubby 15yr old cat, but I did strain my stomach muscles laughing out loud at the 'lighting test' at 7:46 and beyond: the utter doofusness (It IS a word... that I just made up.) is a literal picture. Thank you so much for that. Most exercise I've had in a week. 10 sit-ups equivalency. And yes, I watched your 'Workout Mixtape', and once this lock-down is over I fully intend to follow it. Honest. Nearly forgot... STAY SAFE!

I had a studio in Tribeca with a noisy floor, it drove me crazy. Wood screws helped with the big movements, baby powder between the boards helped with the tiny squeaks.

this is so good!

I wasn't expecting to see over under cable wrapping and you could tell just by looking at them when you opened the cables drawer. 10 points for that.

That 7b needs to be closer to the mouth. Even with a cloudlifter or great preamp, it's dynamic and has a proximity factor to consider. :)
