I agree with some of what you say and disagree with some, since wanting a colored gemstone is a personal choice. Those of us that want a colored gemstone do not care if it sparkles like a diamond because what we want is the color and the unique way a colored gemstone has their own sparkle. Also, the other mentioned con that people will see a sapphire as a cheaper choice is not true in my experience. When Princess Diana made a colored gemstone as an engagement ring popular it made women look more regal and not looked upon as if they were wearing a cheaper ring. Speaking of cheaper rings, look at moissanite, it is Very inexpensive and sparkles twice as much as a diamond and has become a popular alternative especially with younger brides, therefore, trumps your con about comparing the sparkle to a diamond. And who knows anymore who is wearing a natural or lab diamond with the latter being a lot less expensive. Not everyone likes diamonds so please do not assume people are looking for an inexpensive way to mimic a colored diamond with a fancy colored sapphire as they are most likely not even thinking about a diamond. I love Tanzanite the most followed by Rubies with Diamonds coming in 3rd place. Tanzanite it so beautiful and the color shift and it;s own unique sparkle is second to none IMO. The only thing is, it does have 1 con as an engagement ring and that is it's hardness only being a 6 or 6.5 on the mohs scale so you need to be very careful with it and not wear it on a daily basis. IMO there is no engagement ring more beautiful than a colored gemstone surrounded by diamonds as the diamonds showcase the beauty of the center stone's color. At the end of the day, it is all personal preference.

I'm a sapphire bride and I'd like to know what reputable jewelers will polish gemstones? I checked with my local jeweler and he doesn't. Can you make a video on how to clean my sapphire ring without damaging the stone?

I have only recently started looking at gemstones, primarily coloured, i do not posses an indepth expert knowledge of the topic. However, i do otherwise have a background in what might broadly be described as luxury goods. I dont see the merits of the individual trees but i do now have a good view of the wood. I believe there is so much more potential in the coloured market than the exhausted and tired looking diamond show. All credit to Debeers they kept the play running to a full house far longer than most performances....perhaps they might be said to be a victim of their own success. The ubiquity of Diamonds no longer says exclusivity and success, the emergence of so many good synthetics/ simulants will imo be the death knell of the product. Difficult to predict what coloured gems will prevail...fashion is so fickle.
