I do not think that wearing a light polyester suit, even that one, with light polyester shorts, is that restrictive. You're 'talking' with someone that is very conservative about her dress. Well, I was looking at some of the outfits with some of the athletes in the 80s, I really don't see the difference.

Relays team members are required to match.

It's up to the athlete to choose what they want to wear. My Sandra said you get a big old suitcase for all different uniforms. I don’t see what the problem is.

So the top part of it looks a bit retro to me, but the cut on the bottom looks so weird and not flattering. I thought the previous Britain's one piece cut was a bit weird, but now looking back at it, it's not as bad as I thought compared to this U.S. attire

I've seen some of these women's events and wondered what happened to the rest of their uniforms. Seriously, would you want your mother, sister, wife, or daughter competing in one of these outfits?

As soon as saw it, I knew they had alternates to wear. People are just quick to complain about anything.

I'm very sure that some of the athletes will feel ok wearing skimpier outfits than others; however, as long as they have the options available for those who choose not to wear the skimpier outfits....then its all good

They didn't show all the choices did they, so how can you say what else is available for them to chose from? Also the uniforms that they did show are pretty ugly.

I like the final explanation, because it makes plenty sense. If we are given tons of options, we may choose wisely.

The athletes have several options. They can even wear shorts under the leotard. Which is what Sha'carri did for the 2023 World Championship. It's really not that serious.

I don't see anything wrong with them. The uniforms are already pretty skimpy and skin tight for both the men and women. Heck the men's one piece track and field leotards are so tight it leaves little to the imagination. LOL
