എന്റെ ഒരു സുഹൃത്ത് IIM ഇൽ PhD ഇന്റർവ്യുവിന് പോയപ്പോൾ ഫൈനൽ ഇന്റർവ്യുവർ ചോദിച്ചത് "എന്തിനാണ് ഇവിടെ PhD ക്ക് അപ്ലൈ ചെയ്തത്? ഇതിൽ റിസർവേഷൻ ഒന്നും ഇല്ലല്ലോ" എന്നാണ്. ജാതി അവർ മെൻഷൻ ചെയ്തിരുന്നില്ല, എന്നാൽ സ്കിൻ കളർ നോക്കി ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഉന്നതനായ അക്കാഡമിഷ്യൻ ജാതി കണ്ടെത്തുകയും അഡ്മിഷൻ നിഷേധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഇവിടെ എല്ലാ തരത്തിലും ജാതി നിലനിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.

The difference in quality among students at IITs/ IIMs for reserved and unreserved exist. The drop out rates and GPAs differ. Performance of reservation students are low, I mean it would be obvious. Instead of reservations give scholarships. Reservation leads to Brain Drain and it discriminates against high iq and hardworking unreserved students

U should look at the population density of each caste and try to correlate it with percentage of acceptance of each, to top institutions in the country if its proportional then there is no need for reservation but if its not that's the relevance of reservation and brain drain even the iit and iim tops migrate for better opportunity so don't bother about the people who didn't made the cut!! @@ajayajith1745 never said lower castes have fundamental difficulty in learning at all. That is a an extremely casteist remarks. There are Members of underprivileged communities get in through merit categories too. Proportionate representation is not the argument for reservation ( reservation as per consti in an exception to Article 16 (1) -equality of opportunities. Even here proportion is not intended If brahmins or anyother people work hard and perform better in a fair entrance exam like JEE/ NEET - why should their hardwork be denied . If I as a non brahmin dont work as hard a brahmin, it would stupid for me to call out and deny the fruits of labour by calling his performance is savarna/ brahmanical hegemony. Proportional representation is not the aim of reservation system even when the consti was formulated. Read what ambedkar had stated - he said reservation should be only to a minority percentage, else it would be violation of equality ( clearlys shows proportional representation was the answer ) we should have equality of opportunity/ and not equality of outcome - an impossible concept . Look at the percentage of nobel winners ( should china and India be given proportionally , cs we have more proportion to claim) Look at the propotional unreserved in Indian's Nobel winners - should we strip them of their prizes and give it to reserved to make it proportionally equal. ( what about merit and hardwork ). Many IItians had openly written againt reservation in linkedin cs they dont want their kids to go through the anti merit system ( US has banned affirmative action that discriminates against brilliant and hardworking asian students against blacks and hispanics in Harvard ). give underprivileged communities more scholarships and free coaching + guidance and not reservation, reservation leads to brain drain. I mean it is obvious, competitive filtering ensure quality whether it is cricket, science literature etc.

Lol, the dropouts and average GPA of IITs show the relatively poor performance of reserved students agaisnt unreserved students - take data oriented decisions and ban reservation instead provide scholarships. Army, ISRO, Cricket again other data that speak about how reservation is not the answer. Reservation discriminates against highly intelligent and hardworking unreserved students by favouring low performing students owing to their caste. Give Scholarships and free coaching to these students

If they become droputs what about other students of same caste...why only the reserved students becomes dropouts in a large number...if you think it's because all of reserved students are less performing then thinks why it is so....don't just blabber...India had reservations from 1950 only...before that these people suffered...so reservations are necessary

north india is the university of castism. they take extreme very pride in their caste. openly spoken and attack on dalit also. high economical inequality TN, karnatka also open but less attack on lowercaste , low economical inequality kerala is highly indirect, subtle , non spoken but strong. but vey less economic inequality

Untouchability പാടില്ല, അത് കുറ്റകരം ആണെന്ന്. പക്ഷെ ഇന്ത്യൻ constitutionil അത് ഉണ്ട്. അപ്പൊ ഒന്ന് ആലോചിച്ചു നോക്ക്. അങ്ങനെ എഴുതി വെച്ചില്ലായിരുന്നെങ്കിൽ സവർണ കുണ്ണകൾ ഇപ്പഴും അത് തുടർന്ന് കൊണ്ടു ഇരിക്കും. അങ്ങനെ ഒരു നിയമം എഴുതി വെക്കണമെങ്കിൽ ഇവിടുത്തെ അവസ്ഥ എത്ര ഭയാനകം ആണെന്ന് ആലോചിച്ച നോക്ക്. അമേരിക്കയിൽ racism ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു, എന്നാൽ ഇവിടെ അതിലും ഭയാനകം ആണു അവസ്ഥ. അവിടെ കറുത്ത കളർ ആണു പ്രശ്നം ഇവിടെ ഒരാളെ മുന്നിൽ കണ്ടാൽ പ്രശ്നം. Reservation കളയണമെങ്കിൽ ആദ്യം caste എടുത്ത് കളയൂ. അപ്പൊ അത് automatically പോകും. അത് പറ്റില്ല.. ഞങ്ങൾക്കു sc/stkale ഇങ്ങനെ untouchables ആയി, അടിമകൾ ആയി കണ്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കണം.അതാണ് ഓരോ സവർണ തെണ്ടികളുടെയും, വേറെ രാജ്യത്ത് നിന്ന് ഇവിടെ വലിഞ്ഞു കേറി വന്ന വൃത്തികെട്ട മതക്കാരുടെയും സന്തോഷം. Best example of a flawed study with in between studies dropped, the Pratish is Sadhguru pro ( as per him). The data quotes has been not properly critically examined. He trusted on the gullibility of the viewers to just accept what he states. His own data at someplaces contradict , had the unfortunate opportunity of researching the papers. Nobody supports casetism give proper scholarships to SCs/ STs. Or atleast limit reservation in hyper competitive exams like IIT JEE, UPSC, NEET etc ( these are harder than to get into Harvard , Oxbridge etc .) Or limit reservation to SC/ and STs alone. He indeed went through a lot of studies ( no dispute at all ) but lol, have you checked the quality of the studies 🤣🤣 and the relevance of the study to the claims he makes - I unfortunately had to read some. He claim academic performance is not affected by affirmative action ( no diff between reserved and unreserved ) -He then goes to state a study -> 20:22, “Affirmative action in education, “ ( here is the biggest hogwash, the study says reserved students improve their performance and went on to secure jobs ( I mean nobody contends that, of course they secure jobs - he opens an unguarded goalpost and tries to score ), the paper doesn’t state there isn’t any difference between a higher ranked student -10 vs 1000, as the rhetoric he pushes 🤣🤣 The same study states - the people who get through reservation are relatively privileged people, this goes against his claim 6 🤣🤣 - ( I am not claiming against the same, in fact it varies with the kind of insti where reservation is claimed- just showing how data and its relavance changes contextually and deeper analysis and not his shallow presentation would fit) .Hence we claim there should be creamy layer of SCs and STs. Selective cherry-picking of studies and biased interpretation is unacademical. Also another study at time17;00 ( In the time of Globalisation….” - ) The paper discusses about some inherent hiring biases, aspersions against reservation in corporate , the authors make a sweeping remark at the end that merit may not be as what we think it be even in education institutions - the study doesnt state specifically or touches upon relative performance of students across institutions from reserved and unreserved . The guy uses even that study to push the rhetoric there is no difference in merit between a 10 and a 1000 rank 🤣🤣 The opponents of reservation claim, the relative performance of reservation students are lower than unreserved ( murder of merit ). The IIT dropouts rate data openly available ( 60-88% reserved )and the average GPA of OBCs/ unreserved / SC/STs released data by EPW show difference in performance of reserved and unreserved ( just google ). This openly discredits his entire presentation that reservation doesnt affect merit of students in Unis and his claims to which he hasnt given the relevant data as already expsed . The presentator is just giving studies without proper analysis and justification to his claim. I mean he knows the avg mallu wouldnt cross check or critically analyse. There are international studies that show relatively poor performance of affirmative action students in US ( Revisiting the effect of affirmative action on minority student outcomes - Angel Onuoha ) Us has recently banned the race based affirmative action since it was dicriminating against highly brilliant and hardworking Asian students. Asians had to work harder to get into Harvard. Chakravarty and Somanathan (2008) find that graduates from the SC or ST categories get significantly lower wages than those in the general one. This difference disappears once their lower grade point average (GPA) scores are accounted for, suggesting that the large wage difference is due to the lower academic performance of SC/ST candidates. Can give you 100s of anecdotal evidence to confirm the same I mean these are obvious things and dont even warrant a research study ( the quality of input determines the output - look at the data from Cricket, ISRO, Army and the success - well these are data in themselves, why isnt that taken as data - lol cherry picking data to further narratives is bad academic research 🤣🤣 ) I havent gone through the whole materials he provided at all, a few itself exposes his pathetic research/ contradiction/ lack of critical thinking etc. Now imagine low-quality presentation are a huge burden to others

@@pratishvamadevan Reservation leads to brain drain and murder of merit - how many empirical studies have been conducted on these matters, it is a touchy subject. Look at the performance of reserved and unreserved students in IITs and the drop out rates ( the reality clearly speaks against reservation ). Just have a look at the Indian Cricket Team, Army, ISRO without the conventional reservation, or Tamil Nadu engineering colleges with 60% above reservation and the IITs. The qualitry of reserved and unreserced IIT students is a semi- study one can easily gauge. A full flung study will not be allowed showing the evils of reservation will not be allowed - since it will be a national disaster for the politicans who use reservation as baits to fulfill politcial ambitions. The performance of whites, blacks, Asians on SATs are available - and correlation of SATs to success in colleges and outside are also available - so the conclusion is inevitable. There exists huge difference in performance difference between reserved and unreserved students ( I mean, many IIT/ IIM grads have openly called it out even at the potential risk of loosing their jobs ). Instead of reservation give scholarships / free or accessible coaching to underprivileged sections. Reservation leads to brain and it discriminates agains Brilliant and Hardworking students, In US, the US Supreme Court has abolished race based affirmative actions for Blacks, since it was discriminating against the hardworking Asians. The data is out there, dont be under the impression that his studies are the only one out there - that being like a blind sadguru follower out there. Reservation leads to murder of merit - see the performance of unreserved areas like ISRO, Army, Cricket and see the quality of performance. Reservation leads to discrimination against Brilliant and Hardworking students, reservation leads to less performing students to get through . The US Supreme Court has recently annulled race based affirmative action in US, since the same was discriminating against Brilliant and Hardworking Asian Students. Equality of outcome is a myth, but Equality of Opportunity should be promoted. Give scholarships to socially backward students

@@gamerjj777 see there is shudras and there is outcastes called chandalas. chandalas are out of 4 varna. Shudras or chandalas may be part of OBC depending on state. In UP 9-10% Brahmin, 7.5% kshatriya or rajput and 2.5% baniya or vysya. In that state yadav could be shudra but they are OBC. dalits like jatavs are chandalas and SC. In kerala nayar were shudras but they are considered upper caste here. Patel , reddy are shudra but upper caste. it all depends on Brahmin % , how influential a community are etc... Modi caste i dont know. it could be shudra or chandala in old varna system. per gujarat govt it is OBC

We need reservations based on income not by caste especially in kerala because I know it's worst in other state but why keratitis need to suffer for that. We need to compare meritocracy with the USA , how they tackle by race or by merit
