Santorini - Arrival, Taxi & Bus, Firostefani Caldera View Hotel

After arriving at the Santorini Airport, we took a taxi to the hotel in Firostefani. Tried to book Uber but there're no cars available.
Lots of people queuing up for car rental, prices are reasonable, maybe can try that next time.
0:20 - How to take taxi from Santorini Airport
Taxi and bus stations are right outside the airport.
Taxi fare is around 40€ to Oia and 30€ to Fira. The taxi driver knew exactly where the hotel is and where to drop us off.
We stored our big Luggage at care4bag at Athens airport before flying to Santorini.
The airport taxi dropped us off at the main road and we walked up the stairs. Navigating the stairs with suitcases at night was quite a challenge. We made a wrong turn, but finally managed to find our accommodation, thanks to the lighted tubs outside. Make sure to check the street view on the map beforehand.
1:18 - Firostefani Cave house hotel with Caldera view and hot tub
Firostefani is about 1 km north of Fira. You can flag down the bus from the main road. The 'Fira - Oia' Bus Route stops at Firostefani bus station.
For breakfast you have to try their traditional spinach pie and sausage pie, and the strong unfiltered Greek coffee. There's sludge at the bottom.
2:35 - How to take bus in Santorini - Airport transfer and other places
The cheapest way to commute in Santorini is by bus. Fira serves as a central hub for the bus network. You can get a bus that goes to the airport, Oia, the various beaches, and other parts of Santorini. The bus to Kamari stops at the airport as well. Bus tickets can be purchased directly from the conductor or driver. Cash only. They do provide change. The bus schedules change seasonally.
Bus ride from Fira to Oia - about 25 minutes
3:12 - Oia Bus Station - How to get around Oia
Amoudi Bay - steep walk down the steps to the bay. Watch out for stinky donkey poop.
Castle of Oia (to watch the sunset), Church of Panagia, the Blue dome.
5:21 - Kamari Beach
Kamari is a resort town on the southeastern coast. There's not much to do during winter. The beach features black volcanic sand and pebbles. It stretches for around 2km. Rock formation caused by volcanic activity that
occurred around 1600 BCE. The beachfront promenade is lined with bars, shops, it's a lively place during summer.
During winter - No volcano tours, cruises, limited Santorini tours. We decided to walk around ourselves by bus, the cheapest transport option.
