I payed a visit to Santillo's Brick Oven Pizza in Elizabeth, NJ. I had the wonderful privilege to spend a day with one of the most genuine people I've ever met. Alfred Santillo is as big as a character as his business. If you want to get a sense on who Alfred Santillo is, this is the video for you, and if you haven't had a slice of Santillo's Pizza you're truly missing out.

I am serious, if I had the means to get on a plane and fly to New Jersey to eat this pizza tomorrow, I would do it.

I go all the time … Love the Italian bread pizza.. It’s one of a kind pizza parlor and he really loves what he does..

Al is the best! I had the pleasure of meeting him one Friday Afternoon in May of 2018. He made me the best pie and explained the whole process. He is an artist in the true culinary sense. The pizzas are incredible and always worth the trip for me from PA.
Al keep going and rebuild and comeback stronger then ever…

I heard they had a pretty devastating fire on 1/6/24. Hoping for the best for them.

Okay you want the classic NY style sauce so you should have gotten the 2020 style which has San Marazono tomatoes. The others are more thick and herbaceous.

@@BrooklynMusicForum I agree I prefer a minimalist sauce as possible. Santillos 2020 style doesnt have herbs from what I tasted.
