That's some serious effort and investment. Give it a couple of seasons to rubber in,and should be one of the best surfaces in the world.

Was this reconstruction done so Santa Pod could continue running rounds of the FIA drag racing championship? 300+ MPH Top Fuel cars now are only allow to run at the highest standard drag strips worldwide nowadays.

How old was the old surface? How much history had it seen - maybe you could have sold pieces as collector's items!

The old base was the WWII runway, this was recycled and has continued to be used as the base for the new track. Some sections of the old track were saved and may become available as collectors items. Thank You

So really some SERIOUS history there. I first came in 1973 so it was already old even then. Here's hoping a brand new purpose-built surface should be really good. Hope not too many people break half-shafts etc!

Why don't the owners tell the fans and racers they are generating electricity through vibration on the new track? Huhhhh??
