Change of tempo. Sandy Denny. She sang with the Strawbs for a while, mid 60's. She was a troubled, talented, beautiful young woman, died far too young. This to me is very evocative, as most music is. Could choose so many but this seems apt. Was thinking how life passes by so quickly. Hence this song 'Who knows where time goes'.
“My favorite singer out of all the British girls that ever were.”
What a beautiful song. I stumbled on this song and really love it. So sad she died so young, what a loss to the music world and all of us. No telling what she would have accomplished musically if she'd lived.
talked with her at the bar in Amsterdam's Folk Fairport pub in '78... some week later she had fallen down the stairs and died... to me she's an angel...
Such a beautiful, eternally sweet voice.
Ultimate Sandy - it doesn't get any better than this.
Beautiful song, beautiful singing 🎶
I like the version with the pictures that you put on youtube particularly. - Thank you! That is the reason I included it in a playlist of songs and artists, who in my opinion are worth being known and remembered beyond their "home base". Some of them, like Sandy Denny, I only knew, when they were already gone.
OMG I saw her in concert not long before she died. Never heard this recording, though. Thanks for posting this.
I have a Strawbs album and Fairport Convention album with Sandy Denny. Her voice is timeless,a classic.
Certainly is one of the greatest female voices
Lovely.
You were in my Miami Vice episode.... One way ticket.
Personally I like the live BBC version with Richard Thompson on guitar best.
Is this THE Jan Hammer that played with Jeff Beck on Wired?
Brilliant…David Cousins Rules…
