Great video. I love the .22 caliber air guns. I just got my first .177 in 30 years and it’s my first in a PCP. All my other PCPs and Airrifle’s are .22 and .25. I forgot just how flat a .177 shoots. Even though it’s a Nova Vista Liberty/Alpha, a 300$ PCP, it is amazingly accurate. I wish I could shoot a break barrel. My shoulders are blown out and it is impossible to cock them. Shame really with all the superb piston driven air guns out there nowadays. Glad to see someone shoot them that truly knows how to get the best out of one. Thanks again, take care, God bless.

That's some quality shooting mate, there's some other youtubers who can't match that with a PCP on a Bipod in the prone position and you're doing it standing unsupported and kneeling, well impressed.

That 56yd shot on the little spinner, with a .22 was astounding. I would have worries about hitting that with my S200 in .177. Astonishing shot Si. Nice!

Impressive spring rifle, impressive marksmanship too. Though I have a couple of extremely accurate 12ft/lbs spring rifles I still hunt to farmyard ranges, 25m. To shoot further would require me some real application to be consistent enough to confidently hit what is a very small target area. Conditions on the day are the other great factor. All credit to you to you putting the effort in to achieve that level of skill. I love these vids of hunting with air rifle. The caveat is always the range is dictated by what accurate shot placement can be delivered any one day. What such vids rarely show is the dedication necessary to reach out beyond the farmyard ranges, and restraint when conditions aren't right. Great to see a spring rifle match modern PCP consistency. Takes ome tuning skill to do that too.

Why the disclaimer at the end Gary...? As I understand, but I may be wrong and please forgive me if I am, aren’t VHT sponsored by SFS? Are you really telling the audience the truth about a connection with said parties? My psychologist mind started waving red flags like crazy with your statement/declaration. That aside, and unlike your good self, I did not have a great experience with Sandwell. I bought this rifle untuned (and without the horrible engraving on breech block) and had it tuned elsewhere due to the poor customer service and attitude in the shop. I’ve shot a Sandwell tuned rifle and can safely say mine is absolutely superior. No sticker/advert on my gun as my tuner of choice doesn’t need it - his reputation precedes him. Only came here to listen to the hype for entertainment purposes. Kind regards.

@@1972pip like you I am suspicious of glowing endorsements, suspecting many are spurious. Hence the disclaimer, which I would agree sounds suspect. I am a fan of the channel, Si sounds honest to me, refreshing in a cynical world. Shame your experience didn't live up to your expectations. When I get the imp II I'll be sure to get back to you with my overall impressions. It has serious competition against my pro sport, walther varmint and fx streamline, we'll see. Keep smiling. Gary

That's incredible consistency. But I bet it's actually even closer than you found. Because you can see the deviation getting a tiny bit bigger as you increase the amount of shots, I guess from the heat? It would be a massive ball ache but I bet if you left it 5 mins between each shot it would barely deviate at all.

Nice one as always. I'd just like to also give a bit of recognition to the gun it begins as too. The weihrauch hw99s. I've recently bought one in .177 and am well impressed. Off the shelf for just over £200 and it shot without throwing off the (pellet balanced on turret trick.) For an hour spent cleaning off grease, polishing piston and refitting, then fitting a £50 hawke fastmount, I can get a group at 50 meters (which I admit wouldn't be as good as your groups but) 7 of 10 shots covered by a 10 pence and the others just outside. Thats off a crappy home made rest too. First time I've ever stripped a gun and although I've messed with springers over the years, only got into it properly end of last year. Maybe I just got lucky but if they're all like that it makes me wonder is the super duper tuned version really worth the extra wait, money etc. Not knocking it in any way though.

I shot the counter with 177 caliber, but I decided to change it and bought another HW 97, but .22. I have the piston and cylinder slides done. Refined everything possible ... Unfortunately, it is not known why the speed jumps up to 10m. It's a lot. The piston-cylinder system was changed and still the same. I don't know where to look for the problem. Do you have any idea and advice for this. Greetings to you from Poland Rafał.

I just bought one and recon it's good nuf as it is. They're a piece of cake to strip, clean and re lube, I've done mine out of curiosity, was the first time stripping a springer but no dramas. I'm not that experienced at springer shooting but on a calm day shooting off a rest, I can burry a group of pellets under a 10 pence at 40m, and might only have a couple just outside at 50. What more do you need from a springer. For me is it worth spending the price of the gun again for a tune, no.

@@ginger7558 Go for it, to be honest I havn't put a lot of use to it for pest control, because not long before buying the hw99 I got the air arms s410 which I tend to pick up for the rats. (Normally purely because it's at night and multishot is easier loading in the dark) but every time I get the hw out for a go, it's a joy to shoot, a quality feel to it and I can shoot better with it than previous springers from gamo and bsa. The aa 410 is my first pcp and it's great, but I traded in a springer to help soften the blow of purchasing the pcp, but soon missed having a springer in the cabinet. That's how I came about the 99, and chose .177 because everything else i had previously inc the aa 410 was in .22. Others say the .99 is better in .22, if your buying for close range ratting, you might be better with .22? But either will be good. I've just got a £50 hawke scope on it, a 3-9x40ao, and it holds true. Best of luck!

Late on parade here but boy, do I hate you, or what? 😜 Here’s me, a .177 Merchant and now I’ve watched this vid and the one on the Snipe and I’m getting the bloody itch to go up to SFS and have a chat......😂😂😂 I’m a .177 Merchant because of the flat trajectory over distance. I’ve also found, as a Marksman, that this calibre “does the business” out to 65 yards, providing that you know the kill zones and can hit them with accuracy. So, Question: With suppressor, are the IMP and SNIPE quieter than their .177 equivalents? Much obliged if you could give me a steer on this. ATB.....subscribed! One, what a lovely pair of rifles! Two, what an excellent pair of demonstration videos!
