This bass has a great advantage over Stingrays, and that is the adjustable bridge between 17.5mm-19mm, and this really sounds like a Stingray. They nailed the tone with the correct pickup location..

That’s a great point I didn’t think off. I’m not too sensitive to string spacing anymore I used too be very sensitive and the jump from Musicman to a Jazz bass was nearly impossible for me.

yes, but it has also a disadvantage over Stingray, the 35" scale (5 strings model)

@@luigi.zanini why is it a disadvantage?

@@stefanfaustmann256 because to me a 34" scale lenght is the limit for a comfortable playing

@@luigi.zanini Ah I see. It is a really subjective thing. I played a few Laklands, Roscoes, and Lulls and they all had 35" necks. They were super comfortable and balanced. It is down to craftmanship and I believe that this Sandberg is a winner too. And I am a die-hard Music Man fan too.

Nice sounding instrument. I’m in the US and picked up a Sandberg(not so common here). I find it a real enjoyable instrument to play, light, well built…. Just an instrument I always reach out to play… forget my model #, it’s a passive jazz bass. But for those in the US, these sandbergs are worth a try.

Hey Robert your model must be a TTp 4 :-) yeah the Sandberg are much more common here in Europe than in the US but for sure the word needs to get more spread out in the States 🙂

Excellent demo! as usual!!! This bass essentially nails the StingRay growl. punch and bite with the benefit of a 35-inch scale and zero fret!!! Is it active only or active/ passive?

Another Sandberg that sounds great!! I am a Guitar player, searching for his first Bass. Still deciding if I go with the VM4, or VT4. All of those are great. Which is your favorite? I am searching for a flexible P style bass

Yup, It depends on how much of the P bass vibe you want. I think the VT is the most classic of the two and has the most P bass vibe. At the same time the VM is more flexible and the Humbucker bridge pickup is just great modern add.

Does anyone know if this bass also works in passive mode like some of the other Sandberg-models? Can't seem to find any info about it in the instruments description on Sandbergs website.
