Sand Anchor recovery of a Toyota Land Cruiser in the Qatar Desert near Sealine Beach. سيلين , العديد

There were only three of us this week, so we decided to go in one vehicle. Of course we managed to get it stuck.
The area was extremely soft. There were a lot of footprints and tyre marks, it looked like at least 2 cars had been stuck there earlier. There was a patch of firmer ground around 25 metres away in one direction only.
We used our Ground Anchor and winch to pull the Land Cruiser to that area, from there we could gain enough speed to exit.
The firmer ground was at 90 degrees to the direction that the Land Cruiser was facing.
This wasn't a problem the winch pulled the vehicle round.
The Vehicle started to gain and lose traction a couple of times necessitating the taking up of slack rope before continuing with the pull.
It was the first time we used the anchor in a firm patch of ground, basically there usually isn't any.
I should add if you are alone, then a wireless remote is essential in order that you can activate the winch, whilst tipping the anchor forward until it digs in.

Interesting can you use the anchor solo? or it needs at least two to recover using this land anchor?

Yes, in fact that is when it's most useful. But in order to operate it alone, you need to have a cordless remote with a good range for the winch.

I just have to advise you that you are putting alot of people in danger by not using cable dampers...if the cable snaps you could cause permanent damage to your cameraman and the people hanging around. I know you have been doing lots of recoveries but why risk it...even a hoodie or backpack could be slung over. Again, not worth the risk to ignore such a basic safety measure. Thanks for all the cool recovery videos though, fun to watch

Thank you for your concern. We never use cable, it's too much of a risk
