San Rafael Swell Part2 - Devils Racetrack, Fix It Pass, Swing Arm City, Capital Reef - EcoDiesel 4XE

Фильм және анимация

The EPIC Team heads down to Utah for the first time in 3 years. Instead of Moab, we're headed to the lesser-known, but very impressive San Rafael Swell. In this episode, we run Devil's Racetrack & Fix It Pass, Visit the gorgeous Capital Reef National Park (Cathedral Valley, Temple of the Sun, Temple of the Moon, Glass Mountain) and Swing Arm City.
Our team travels in Teraflex-equipped Jeeps, including KHAN the EcoDiesel Gladiator and a new 2022 4XE Rubicon. Shaun from ‪@TheStoryTillNow‬ joined us in his 2022 Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch.

OMG that 4Xe ROCKS!!! I’m taken mine to you guys for an enhanced lift and 37 inch tires. I already have the Mopar lift, so maybe a spacer to make it higher! And I love those Fox shocks 👌🤩👍

Yeah, the 4XE did well on this expedition. The fuel tank being smaller than a regular Wrangler requires some careful fuel planning when visiting remote areas, but the electric power crawling over rocks silently is a blast.... and the torque! wow.

As a resident of Cleveland, I want to thank you for showing the beauty of the "Wedge Overlook". My Mother loved this place and drove her Toyota Matrix here and spent the night with her granddaughter. Her granddaughter had just graduated High School and they had a great time. My mother is the reason I bought property in Cleveland. I wish I knew how to add a pic of my lovely wife standing at the overlook with the wind blowing through her hair (she was scared to death standing for that photo).

Hey Ginger. You got me cracking up with the commentary during the vid..makes it that much more entertaining!! 🤣 How are you liking your diesel over time..I'm on the fence about getting the diesel..

Diesel is way to go for torque and power. The 3.6L is terrible in comparison of power output, especially when loaded.

Was the 4xe on hybrid during the trip or did it run out of electricity? Thinking of getting one, so just curious if it was down on power if running only on the ICE. Great video, really enjoy your channel.

Hey David! The electrical juice ran out pretty quickly the first day so it was running on the 2.0L mostly. However we did get 12-16% battery at the end of each day through regen, which we used the following morning. All-in-all it was a fine Jeep to adventure with ;-)

Great video guys....I know you had the JT Rubicon there...how do you think a Mojave would have handled the trip (no front locker)? I am curious being that I am a new Mojave owner.

A Mojave with a 2"+ lift would be find on these trails in the Swell. Front lockers were used just on the one steps section as we were in a hurry and it was starting to rain.

Why didn't Shaun engage his lockers? Can't tell on the rear locker, but it looks like the front isn't engaged until the 3rd try. However, looking at front wheels seem to be doing some sort of traction control, I'm guessing neither locker is engaged. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f4Jk0rCIl6-ndaw.htmlsi=3TgGCrilOcEFI7xc&t=818

@@Dave-yl2ep I'm not hating it's just GM and Ford do not want to make stuff that people want anymore all they care about is a computer world they talk about saving the environment but they don't make stuff last anymore and computer stuff breaks down fast all companies want to be the same as the other copycat with a different badge zero thrills
