SAN PANCHO, MEXICO 🇲🇽 Better & Quieter Than Sayulita! (for now)

San Pancho is a beautiful little beach town in the Riviera Nayarit. Located only about 10 minutes away from Sayulita, it feels a world away from the popular Pueblo Magico down the road.
Here's what you can expect from a day out in San Pancho.

Your videos inspired us to visit so many places in Mexico! Based on your recommendations, we've visited San Jose del Cabo, Loreto, Tulum and are planning our next trip at the end of 2024 to Sayulita or possibly San Pancho! Thank you for all of your hard work and research!

Lovely! Thx for conveying the good feel in San Pancho. Feeling inspired to explore it too, next time in PV / Sayu. Also, I so appreciated your tranquilo vibe and your good Spanish pronounciation.

Visited San Pancho a few days ago, and I can confirm the ocean waves are very strong with an undercurrent to match. But gosh, like you, we adults had a blast getting pounded by the waves, although I'm not sure how smart it was.

Spent two nights here before heading to Sayulita. Really enyoyed our timebhere and loved the quiet layed back vibes. Ocean is very rough so be careful. Many choices for food from local family places to street food and american style restaurants. Webare in Sayulita now and can honestly say we enjoyed both towns equally.

Ive wanted to go to Sayulita since the 00s and thought now was the time but I'm hearing a lot about sapovirus concerns so I'm very curious about San Pancho since it seems more like the Sayulita I wanted to visit 20yrs ago. Thanks for the video I'm going to look into visiting next months! Is a 5 night trip too much for the small town? My wife and I love the beach (we live near it in California and go often) so we always like to center our vacations around being on the sand but we'd like to explore and do more than just eating/sunbathing/shopping. Should we maybe do a couple nights in Puerto Vallarta and end in San Pancho for 3 nights for a calming end to the trip? Sorry if this is a long comment haha

If you had to choose one for relocation…. BCS or Nayarit?

You missed the best of san pancho and that's staying for sunset on the beach is magical every evening. If you want more laid back check lo de marcos which will be the next chill vibe town.

I love small Mexican beach towns...San Pancho, Lo de Marcos, Melaque, Barra de Navidad...no interest in the big tourist traps anymore. 👍

Is it safe to rent a car and explore towns in Nayarit. Do you fly into Pto. Vallarta airport?

  • @laura-bronner

Yes - you can fly into Puerto Vallarta Airport and then rent a car right from there. It's perfectly safe to rent a car- just be sure to book directly with the car companies so that you don't incur any surprise fees ( you can read my article about renting a car in mexico here: www.eternal-expat.com/2019/01/14/renting-a-car-in-mexico/ ).

I've been to San Pancho quite a few times -unfortunately the water has a bad undercurrent & is not safe for children

Yes, it's definitely a strong current, like many of the beaches along this coastline.

Exactly what we're looking for! BUT.....can you find a place to get steaks?(we're carnivores) And, can you share some information about apartment/condo rentals? TFS!

Deffinitively in Mexico the carnivores have no problem at all, the Mexicain are carnivores too 😉 And the accommodation depends on what you are looking for m, but you can find deffinitively beautifull hôtels and RnB, just have a little look on the net 😊
