I'm a non-surfer. No notions of what is considered "cool" or "uncool." Having said that, I can watch this all day long. The style, the flow, the grace is almost otherworldly. When I think of surfing, I see this. Four and a half minutes of..."woooooooowww." And has there ever been a more fitting soundtrack to anything? No. :)

Paul M Yes, you did include me and everyone else because you stated it as a fact - and you stated it publicly. I happen to think that surfing is SO much better than when a dog wags it’s tail at you. In fact, I would take surfing over a dog wagging its tail at me every single day of the year. But that’s me. If you’d be just as happy not going surfing and having a dog wag it’s tail at you instead, then power to you, dog lover!

Surfing is unique. They'res really no opponent. Just whether you and the wave want to dance together. Paddle outs can suck but once you get that ride?....hooked I've had the times of my life surfing outside at san onofre. Thanks to all the peeps that keep that beach up!

I started to surf in the late 60s as a kid on an old board from possible the 50s. It looked like these but weighed so much I had to drag it down the beach. The first short boards I rode were a step backwards until the twin fins and finally the 3 fins arrived.

LoL, my 1st board, late 63 or early 64, was popout 7' 10". For HS graduation in 66 my folks bawt me a 10' hansen. Worked "down" to a 7'6" pintail. Surfed til i was c. 50, graduated to boogey board. Lots of fun too! 73 now. Now live about 1/4 mile from beach. All my riding these days are fab memories. Thank you, Lord, for such fun!!!

Be ware the thieves at San Onofre State Beach! I was there 30 years ago and had thieves break into my car and steal everything. 30 years later, my first time back, thieves broke into my car again! The Ranger told me it's an organized crime syndicate that mainly steals credit cards. Why are the Rangers allowing this? The place is ruined as far as I'm concerned. Law enforcement is sitting on their thumbs and allowing organized crime thugs to steal from the cars?!!! Why do we pay taxes and why do we pay $15 to enter? And why can't they solve the problem? It sounds really fishy to me.
