San Francisco Muni Metro, Bay Area Rapid Transit BART, Caltrain, Cable Car, Gold Gate Transit

Observations of San Francisco Muni Metro (SFMTA), Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), Caltrain, Cable Car, Gold Gate Transit in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. San Francisco is known to have the best transit systems in North America. Here are the list of transit agencies that were documented onto this video-
San Francisco Muni Metro (SFMTA):
SFMTA is s transit agency that operates Muni buses, Cable Car, streetcars, and Muni Metro (light rail or tram) in San Francisco Metro.
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART):
BART is a heavy rail that operates the greater San Francisco Bay Area (expanding soon to San Jose). Note that BART infrastructure design is similar to Washington DC WMATA and Atlanta MARTA.
Caltrain:
Caltrain is a commuter train the travels between San Francisco and San Jose (and further south of San Jose). Pretty soon, this commuter rail will operate their brand new electrical trains.
Golden Gate Transit:
Golden Gate Transit that serves the Northern Bay of San Francisco (any cities or counties that are located north of the Golden Gate Bridge).
On a personal note, it is great to back home. Before moving to Houston, I used to live in San Francisco (specifically in the Mission District). Almost everyday, I used to take BART and Muni during 1990s. My favorite transit in SF is BART. I love riding BART because it is fast. BART is a true rapid transit and reliable system. It is great to be back at my hometown San Francisco. I love my hometown.

The variety of transit infrastructure is what I miss in SF, you have subways, streetcars, tunnels through mountains, BART viaducts, underground passes, and soon a new tunnel to the train station at the SalesForce Transit center. I live in Switzerland and yes the transit is varied but in my city of Basel they only have trams, and it’s all street running, no tunnels or viaducts, just some dedicated lanes and some decent stations. Pretty green and yellow trams though.

Yeah I don't know about "soon", San Francisco still needs to come up with close to 3 billion to get the project started, for something projected to cost 6.7 billion, and that's if they start today, "tomorrow" it may be double that amount. I get the convenience factor of it, but honestly local express bus service from the 4th street station to Salesforce is the most economical way to do it. Because not only do they need to underground from the 4th street station, they need to make the 4th street station underground because there's a huge building across the street from it so they can't go underground after the station.

Welcome back to The Golden State! It's too bad that the new Stadler KISS is still not in operation yet for Caltrain and you didn't got a chance to ride it! Oh well, at least there are some FLIRT train running for some agencies. The European trains are way better than America's but I think they both have something special in common. LOL

@@AjbWhaYT If memory serves they will do a soft launch over the summer. So some regular trains will be replaced with the Stadler KISS trains even before they change their schedule to 15 minute frequencies in September!

There are few SF Muni routes that serve the Daly City BART station at the northernmost end of San Mateo County

Most of the Muni Metro routes connect to BART at Balboa Park instead of Daly City. Muni is an SF-only service. They don't cross the border into Daly City.

Lol, that's just right wing propaganda. SF's population started growing again already in 2021. The tourist visits are also back to pre-pandemic levels. Work from home is here to stay, so SOMA and FiDi are emptier during the day. But nightlife in downtown is actually above pre-pandemic. Don't believe everything you see online. Most of it is bullshyt.
